Originally released by Musical Freedom, the instrumental edit of 19-year-old Oliver Heldens’ deep house smash ‘Gecko’ has become a staple in club sets for 2014, peaking at #2 in the Beatport chart and garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Zane Lowe. 

The latest edit ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’, written and vocalled by Becky Hill during a late night recording session with MNEK, is being released by Parlophone’s vital new dance imprint FFRR. Initially written for another vocalist, Becky’s towering vocal on Gecko’s chorus was deemed the perfect fit and has already been coined the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Zane Lowe.

Fresh from remixing the likes of Ill Blu and Little Nikki, Uptempo label boss DJ S.K.T is the latest producer to put his spin on Oliver Heldens x Becky Hill’s ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’. S.K.T’s minimal club edit will be available as part of the ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ remix package, released June 22nd on FFRR.

Following notable remixes and his Nightcrawlers collab ‘Push The Feeling 2014’, North London’s DJ S.K.T is set to release his own EP by the end of this year.

Gradually evolving over the course of seven hypnotic minutes, Dansson & Marlon Hoffstadt’s "Shake That," released in March 2014, utilizes deceptively simple elements – the irresistible rolling bassline, stripped-back beats and an imaginative vocal sample from Nate Dogg’s "Get Up" – to create an addictive, pop-driven take on deep house. Staar premiered his “Shake That” remix on Steve Angello’s BBC Radio 1 residency show in February. His unique electro spin on the infectious tune has gotten spins from artists including Laidback Luke, Tiësto, Axwell & Ingrosso, Tommy Trash and NERVO, and has left fans clamoring for the track’s release. The remix infuses the track with an energetic main stage flair, complemented by a driving bassline and massive build-up.
