Amazing that such an annoying alarm sound sound can blend beautifully in an orchestration to the point that you do not even notice it, and becomes the backbone for other instruments !

Composed and produced on a Sunday morning with Korg gadget 2.

Chill wave growing up into kind of a Reggaeton tune...

20 tracks, some are used for specific gimmicks, a lot of modules were used, probably the most complete production to date for me with Gadget.

Even with the most heavy duty modules like Milpitas (Wavestation), no signs of weakness were shown on my Ipad Pro (2018), in fact it seems no limitation really exists ;-) 

Having a former background of a music producer in the late 80’s I can testify that it would have a big thing to produce such a track even having all the synths at my disposal, it would have taken me 10x more time ! 

I can really say that such an application is a milestone to me in term of music production but I know there is a debate among musicians between software vs hardware solutions.

Mixing in my bed or on the go with real time multi-effects, infinite polyphony, full automation is like a dream come true that no one could have ever expected back then…

I think I will never go back ;-)

Sunday morning

Final mix of a previous tune I posted some days ago…

The humongous bass is provided by the mighty Lexington (8 oscillators in unison slightly detuned), I like to mix some acoustic instruments like the chamber strings at the beginning. 

Again, Milpitas is always a source of inspiration, this gadget is a whole universe on its own…

Highly energetic electro tune, I hope it will cheer you up on this sunday, mostly cloudy here (Paris / France).

Humanistic Resistance 4

My latest creation with Korg Gadget 2 : a lot of gimmicks, sfx and a very straightforward harmonic structure, it can remind 80s style synth pop soundtracks.

Old and newest modules were used, sometimes it is hard to choose, and playing aroung with serendipity can help...

I tried to play with the rhythm, mixing percussions and drums along with arpegiated sequences, Gadget 2 is just great for that kind of stuff ;-)

Stockholm with the usage of the default REX files was of great help and is a very underestimated module wich I should investigate much further in the future

At this stage I think Korg Gadget really lacks program changes support and a way to visualize track automation in a friendly way (volume changes, etc.)

You'll notice smooth tempo changes between scenes at the end, may be I was thinking of eating some loukoumms ;-)

Don't ask me if all the instruments used are specifically turkish, certainly not, but it reminded me of the asian side, that was enough for me ;-)

This the first part of a tune i've been working on for the past few weeks. 

24 stereo tracks in a synthpop / soundtrack style. 

You'll hear the second part at the end, fading away, wich will require additionnal work.

Progressive Peplum Part 1

From classical to EDM… ;-)

Technical aspects : a lot of tempo changes (80 to 120 BPM) which I tried to induce as smoothly as I could. Montpellier for the bass is sounding a bit like the Elka Synthex (Jean-Michel Jarre laser harp sound), a lot of Lisbon stuff because it is just great for high pitched synth gimmicks, especially for EDM ;-) Wolfsburg & Lexington for backing synths, Milpitas & Darwin for their nice sounding presets, strings from the cool Kapro collection, piano from Salzburg (Ivory AMD), harpsichord from the legacy Marseille, and a little bit of Deemax on the output ;-)

Movie as a dance

With a very simple chord progression, this four to the floor track presents the same theme over and over playing with different arrangements, the tempo is slightly evolving from 99 to 107 bpm, I hope you’ll like it !

Technical aspects :
It was a bit tricky to mix the whole thing as many modules were involved to produce a wide sound.

- Salzburg and Darwin (M1) on the piano with a good attack and a light flanging effect
- Vancouver at the intro to produce a mellow synth
- Montpellier and Wolfsburg to back the piano at a higher pitch with acid analog sounds
- Recife on the drums and Bilbao with a backing EDM snare and fills with effects
- Bilbao (again) and Stockholm for the voices
- Lisbon, Marseille, Pompéi, Helsinki, Milpitas for all the gimmick synths, leads and sequences 
- Glasgow with Kapro legato strings 
- Brussel on the pumping bass with gives all the body to the mix without being too noticable

Automation on the volume and cutoff frequency was often used.
Massive EQ, filters, Stereo BPM delays, compressors, enhancer, exciter were used throughout all the channels to let each instruments have some « space » ;-)

And finally a little bit of Deemax to tighten the final mix !

"Lockdown" remix of a track I did some months ago, intricate sequences and gimmicks to sound like a factory line... 28 tracks, the latest "Fairbanks" synth was used and a lot of other Gadget Instruments ! Hope you will like it
