Giulio Caccini - Ave Maria

A piece with a fascinating history. It was originally attributed to 18-th century composer Albinoni and supposedly discovered by 20-th century biographer Rema Giazotto. Later it was revealed that Giazotto had found only a small segment of the opening melody and chord structure and it is now believed he wrote most of it himself. 
However it was written, it is a hauntingly beautiful but melancholy piece. This arrangement by Jason Waldron, and performed by William Wilson. More on william at Facebook.com/wmwilsonguitar .

Evert Taube made this song 1943.
In a comment to the text, Taube writes "...free interpretation of the Scottish poet Robert Burns' poem with the same subject, A Red, red rose" 1794. Taube thus states Robert Burns as the source.
