Dirty. Simple.

The early 2000's were the golden era for big beat and electronica. Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, and of course The Prodigy all started to breakthrough from the back bins at Tower Records to the front of the store. I remember seeing the earlier Prodigy albums all magically show up once Fat of the Land hit it. I would be lying if I said this time and these artists didn't play a big part in how I wanted this track to sound. But like them, I did it from scratch. I built the drums up from a dozen different loops, filtering and cutting out the parts I didn't want and putting the parts I did want, right up front and slammed them. The difference in crafting the drums versus layering or flat out using loops is \*unmistakable. \*While the loudness wars rage on forums and reddit, and the kids are busy tuning their kicks, I'll just do it the way it's been done.

Getting older I sometimes go through phases where I listen to music that I liked back in the day. For me it's stuff like NIN, Ministry, The Prodigy, etc. I normally don't produce those genres, but I did anyway. Thanks to Kimosabe for the vocals. Everything else was me. I even dusted off the old guitar. I forgot how easy it was when it's your song vs. someone else's or a cover. I should stick to that.

I took some pretty vocals and saturated them to hell. Cranked the loudness until my limiter uninstalled itself out of fear, probably blew out a studio monitor, and took another few dB out of my hearing range. Still worth it.
