Squirrel—Eclipse— the Bumble bee—
Nay—Nature is Heaven—

The Bobolink—the Sea—
Thunder—the Cricket—
Nay—Nature is Harmony—

Nature is What We See is the setting of a poem by Emily Dickenson (1830-1886) and was one of the winning entries of the New York ensemble C4’s First Student Competition. It is one of my latest choral works related to the topic of nature and love, together with other work based on texts by A. Tennyson and W. Whitman. Using tonal language, the piece tries to explore varied texture possibilities for multiple voice groupings with the SSAATTBB choral setting. For the best result, this piece should be sung by a chamber ensemble.

Nature is What We See je zhudebnění básně Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) a zároveň jednou z vítězných skladeb C4's First Student Competition v New Yorku. Je jednou z mých nedávno zkomponovaných sborových skladeb, které se spolu s dalšími zhudebněními básní A. Tennysona a W. Whitmana zabývají tématy přírody a lásky. S užitím tonálního jazyka se snažím prozkoumat různé možnosti hudebních textur menších hlasových skupin v rámci SSAATTBB obsazení. Pro dosáhnutí nejlepšího výsledku by tato skladba měla být provedena sborem komorního typu.
