A simple drumloop made out of live recorded drumsounds from a 60s vintage ludwig drumkit. Chopped up to show how gritty/ dirty/ raw the samples in the KORG Mircosampler can be tweaked to sound similar to e.g. the instant gritty sound of the Zoom Sampletrak ST-224.

Resampled at 24kHz
added distortion to snare an hihat (then resampled)
added filter to snare and hihat (then resampled)
the kick was made using the practical little microphone that comes with the microsampler. recorded a beatboxkicksound and damped it with filter and eq.
in the end resampled again with compressor effect to give it little more punch.

you could have also added some reverb to the hihat or snare to give it a golden age flavour, but it's just made to show what the MS-1 is capable of. peace :)

Beeing a big Fan of Nujabes´ Music and the anime series Samurai Champloo and the original Soundtrack which was mostly written by Nujabes, too, I decided to do a "Samurai-Champloo-inspired" Tribute (Jun Seba aka Nujabes died in 2010 at the age of 36).
