The low wobbling sound you can hear is the mechanical birdsong of the Snipe, caused by the wind moving through its feathers. Recorded using a parabolic reflector.

Dusk - Lýsuhóll Farm, Iceland

The sounds heard are of two recordings of one steel rope vibrating. The ropes support a 412m high radio mast. A JRF Audio C series contact mic was placed inside the rope. I have hours of this amazing organic constantly changing sound, and will upload more in time.

Field Recording of high winds whipping through a towerblock in Marseille. Recorded the day before a big forecasted thunderstorm, you could feel the atmosphere of it.

Incredible busking outside the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris. You can hear the reflections of the shaker the artist hits on the didgeridoo reflecting off the centre and bouncing around the square.

In April/May 2017 I spent two weeks cycle touring around Southern France and Northern Spain with my father. Having cycled over the Pyrenees and into Spain, we followed the mountains west. I had prepared a route but we noticed some smaller roads that stayed closer to the mountains. The road slowly turned from decent B road, to farm road, to dirt track. Sure enough we found ourselves truly cycling the camino de santiago (on our road bikes whats more) with not another soul in sight. I made this recording on our mid-afternoon pause as we sat down amongst the arid landscape and appreciated the views. We followed the camino for another 20km of tough semi-offroad biking, thankfully no punctures were had.

Beach Ambience - La Barceloneta - Download in description

Recordings of two Ravens flying overhead and back again. The first recording is over a clearing, the return is through a woodland canopy, with their wings hitting tree branches. This was in the French Pyrenees at around 1500m.

The first moments of the dawn chorus, this recording was made in May 2018 in the Ariège-Pyrenees National Park. I've edited the first 40m of the dawn chorus into a 10m piece which shows the acoustical progression of the forest as more and more birds join in the dawn chorus.

With the April 15th Fire, I felt like sharing this recording I made sitting inside Notre Dame listening to the bustle of tourists and the great organ, which reverberated eerily around the Cathedral. 

It seems that the organ is largely intact and I really hope it can be restored to its former glory.

As I am just finishing editing recordings from my autumn trip to Tunisia, here is another quick sample of the recordings to come. I spent a few hours recording around the UNESCO heritage Medina of Tunis. From the busy market to the residential squares and cafes. So much variety in sound.

This is a field recording captured in the final days before the UK locked down and self-isolation began. I took the opportunity to visit some ancient woodland that would normally be totally engulfed by noise pollution, as it sits on the major European flightpaths to London. Only when there is an absence of noise can you really imagine just how intrusive the planes must normally be to wildlife.

Recorded with a pair of hydrophones in a London park pond at 5am. We can hear the rhythmic sound of aquatic insects, as well as the odd above-surface sound.

When I lived in France, storms would roll off the Pyrenees mountains, and I would record them from my apartment terrace in Toulouse. This is one of my favourite recordings, where the city was quiet and the rain heavy. Hope you enjoy
