Lord of the Flies

I've been sick lately, which means a lot of down time and not enough mental capacity to do anything too ambitious. The overlap between those two problems resulted in me making this short track using only my Arturia Microbrute (three tracks, each recorded live) and some processing on my laptop (nothing fancy or transformative, just delay, phaser, EQ, the like.) I hope you enjoy it, and I hope someone out there who's debating buying a Microbrute pulls the trigger 'cause these things are fantastic.

Microbrute Ramblings

I really love those dreary, grey days, where the wind whistles slightly in the trees, and there's a sense that the world isn't either quite awake or quite asleep. I wanted to make a song out of that feeling, and here we are. A lot of it was recorded with me playing synth parts live, and I'm considering going, generally speaking, in a more minimal, live-recording-based direction with my music. If so, consider this part one, and stay tuned for more.

Grey Skies

Technically, this isn't quite dubstep (nowadays, electronic music that fits a genre seems to have fallen from fashion unless that genre is house or future bass), but it's moderately close. I guess sticking completely with ambient isn't gonna work out for me after all. Anyway, this is my Halloween track for the year; I hope you like it.

Play With Your Toys

I made this track for a challenge; the rules were that I could only use one synth. I chose Schwa's Olga. Admittedly, I'm just demoing it, but I wanted to get to know it a bit better before buying it, and making this definitely helped with that. It's beautifully grungey, and I hope you like the sounds that I coaxed out of it as much as I do.

Note: This isn't really meant to be a perfect track, but it was a lot of fun to make. I expect the first comes across and I hope the latter does too!

I've been listening to a lot of witch house lately (and maybe a smidge of gqom), and I guess it shows in this. That's not to say that I think the track is neatly defined as witch house, but... it's kinda witch house. I also think it's quite pretty. So, here's Goodbye Echoes. Hope you like whatever it is.
