From the depths of an unnamed forest come the rhythmic rumblings of Oreste, and his forthcoming long player from the ever incredible Annulled Music imprint. Ranging through a variety of textures, moods, field recordings and more, Oreste has shown his maturity as a producer and the sheer scope of soundscapes that he’s capable of creating. After having supported his music through our Sundays are for selections, we’re incredibly happy to premiere ‘Locus Form’ from Swelling Truth.

Starting with a steady, pulsating beat provides a foundation for the entirety of Locus Form. The beats are deliberate, with a hint of tension, creating a sense of forward movement. The rhythmic pattern might be reminiscent of a heartbeat or the ebb and flow of water, reinforcing the hypnotic quality of the music. On top of this structure, the saw-like synth is steady in its presence providing a growling energy just sitting below the surface.

Locus Form and the rest of Swelling Truth will be released on the 3rd of November by Annulled Music.

"The Birth of Mist" is set at the beginning of a water steam, in the morning of the world. The artist continues to draw attention to living beings, using a luminous vocabulary. The listener is bathed in colorful sounds and rhythms, contemplating a liquid, shifting landscape that the mist reveals in bits over the course of the 9 compositions.

The story is written and told as you listen, the sounds appear and disappear, each composition inhabits you. The progression of the album is formed of blurred contours, inviting us to tirelessly follow these misty sonic paths.

With a more generous format than ever before, it makes room for both well-known label producers and pioneering artists whose work criss-crosses the world with their unique and immediately identifiable sound. Thirty artists have responded to the invitation and are brought together here to give us a glimpse into the prism of contemporary musical creation. Nor are there any presupposed and therefore definitive barriers of genre or style, On the contrary, the contours here are intended to be voluntarily porous and slippery, each track being interconnected with another, or at least echoing what we might call the zeitgeist.

For AI-38 Italian duo LF58 (Giuseppe Tillieci and Filippo Scorcucchi) present ‘Radials’. A site-specific concept piece that was recorded live on location in Venice, Radials showcases the powerful and transportive sound world which LF58 have become known for. 

Radials takes its name from the homonymous exhibition created by the Roman artist group Sbagliato, for the 2023 Biennale Architettura of Venice. 

Following a landmark renovation of the Fondacoo dei Tedeschi by renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, Sbagliato proposed the spatial transformation of the historic sixteenth-century building that would blur the lines between fiction and the real. 

The concept, to create unexpected “voids” within the fixed order of architecture, prompts the observer to question the fleeting and subjective nature of the reality that surrounds us. The building’s main loggia - a series of five archways exposed to the Canal Grande - take on a theme of reproduction and multiplication, giving rise to infinite perspectives in a dizzying mise en abyme. Through the portal-like potentialities of the loggia, the visitor enters the gateway to a fluid realm of distorted time and space. 

LF58 arose to translate the visual concept of Radials into sound, delivered through a special quadraphonic concert performed at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in October 2023. Quadraphonics, with its four distinct audio channels, were used in direct correlation with the visual elements of the installation to immerse the audience in a dreamlike, multisensory experience. 

The opening scene of running waters and the cacophony of the bustling city streets quickly dissolves under the chiming of nearby bells, as hidden liminal spaces become revealed. It’s not long before all remnants of the ordinary are left behind, as the listener is submerged into the shimmering frequencies of parallel dimensions. 

A spatial soundscape of ever-moving forms and colours, Radials descends into ever-deeper waters. As the facade of what was once known falls away, a transportive journey of mind-body alterations begins.

Folding the ambient techno tradition into neatly arranged packets of rhythm and space, Delsin proudly presents a striking new collaboration from Tobias. and Doltz. A project developed from a chance encounter, Versus combines classic synth and drum machine configurations with needlepoint sound design to create a quintessential electronica listening experience.

Tobias. is the lead alias from Tobias Freund, the celebrated German techno pioneer who has been actively exploring new territories in electronic music production since the early 1980s. As Doltz, Shun Watanabe has quickly developed his own impressive artistic stamp in the field of leftfield techno and ambient since debuting in 2020. After seeing Doltz perform a live set at Eden Festival 2024 in Japan, Freund instantly invited him to collaborate. After the success of the first collaboration, they went on to develop five of the tracks on Versus together, while Jiawen Wang performed additional vocals on 'We Are Not Alone'.

Versus is an album that balances variety and consistency across its finely sequenced run time, maintaining a focus on pointillist, exploratory rhythm from crisp drum machines and twitchy digitalia alike, all backed up by richly rendered atmospherics from gaseous pads to icy drones. It's a warm and inviting sound world, but also fearlessly futuristic, speaking to both Freund's decades of refinement and the startling clarity of Doltz's vision.

For their inaugural release, London-based vysyon presents Mercuri: an enchanting EP of enigmatic techno featuring work by Swiss artists @varuna4053 & @mateohurtadomusic. 

Having developed their brand of abyssal club music through releases on Amenthia Recordings & their own imprint A Walking Contradiction, Varuna dive into the void on 'Remote Pulsar'. Driven by a disorientating polyrhythm cloaked in opaque atmospherics, the trio's otherworldly approach to sound design is on full display. By contrast, the pounding 4/4 kick & propulsive acid bass of 'Uvez Echos' entrance the listener into a state of dancefloor reverie. 

Mateo Hurtado casts his own unique magic over the flip, showcasing his archetypal mystic sound established via an album on Annulled music & remixes for Space Drum Meditation. The mesmerising flute melody of 'An Invisible Fire, Working In Secret' casts a spell of hypnosis, while the flowing, amorphous pads & twisted bass of 'The Eternal Mirror' conjure visions of worlds unknown.

Aerotek welcomes Arlles Stic to the family, as he brings us a massive single, that is bound to shake dancefloors all over the world. His track 'Overcurrent' is a powerhouse Techno track that we are proud to be releasing here on Aerotek, as we continue in the year to bring you some quality underground, electronic music. Arlles however didn't come alone, he brought his whole entourage with him on this release, including remixes from one of Tight Groove Recordings label heads, El Camino, or more accurately described as the techno duo, Audio Bigot. Then you add hardware fanatic, Sneaky Freq into the mix, and before you know it, we have a bomb release in our hands. 

'Overcurrent' features a hard nose throbbing kick, that simply catapults the track in motion. The swinging percussion it then introduces, takes the track into full swing mode. The eerie melody in the background, gives it some amazing mysteriousness throughout. Then that soulful vocal comes out of nowhere, and completes the track with some amazing grace. This track is guaranteed to fuel your peak hour vibes in your sets, amazing job put forth by Arlles. Audio Bigot then add a bit of their own hard techno in their rendition on the remix, complimenting the original very well in similar fashion, which is an absolute stomper, well done! Dr. Brodsky follows through on the remix duties, and we must say that it is an absolute honor having you sir (you know who you are!) His remix which features some hypnotizing melodies, simply adds a whole new flavor that one will crave when hearing, and will be sure smashing the dancefloor. To end the release on an amazing note, we have Sneaky Freq, doing what he does best, which is cranking up those analog machines in his remix. Stellar job on all tracks by these artists!
