City Times Sound’s first week of new programming continues with the debut episode of “Mood Ring,” which airs today at 5 and 9 p.m. Listen live on KSDS 88.3 HD-2, or online.

Host Jakob McWhinney digs up great local music that has some sugar, and some edge, and serves it shaken, with the goal of keeping listeners asking themselves “wait…this artist is from San Diego?”

Drug Hunt’s Tristeza (sadness) is a border story - one destined to be buried under the controversy that surrounds any international boundary.  This particular tale follows the journey of a troubled young girl struggling to feed her habit. Tormented between two worlds, both physically and spiritually, she remains numb, rather than face the reality of her existence.  Falling deeper into the brutal cycle of addiction, and the consequence of that life, the walls begin to close in.

He stretched his legs feeling ready to love anything.

She was on her second leg limping toward redemption.
