Maksim Dark is conquering the techno world rapidly. At Jannowitz Records we have already been lucky enough to win him over for two remixes in the past and - as you should remember - the first Jannowitz release of 2018. Maksim co-produced “Octopussy” with Jannowitz heads BOHO which was a huge success. Previously Maksim had worked for Sci-Tec, Octopus and Senso. 

Kaiser Souzai, whose name you have already read on three of the Jannowitz releases over the last years, took “Industrial Strength” and transformed it into something different but with a similar drive and brutality. Whilst listening to it with it's slow but powerful build-up you will definitely know where it comes from but recognise that they made it their own.

Jannowitz Records' relationship with Maksim Dark has come a long way. We learnt about this uber producer quite some time ago, from his mind blowing releases on imprints like Oliver Huntemann's Sense or Dubfire's Sci+Tec. So when we approached him in the first place to release on JAW we would have never expected this to lead to an amazing friendship and more than one Beatport charting releases within a short time span. In this time Maksim has done an amazing solo EP called “Radium War”, a fantastic collaboration with label boss BOHO (“Octopussy”) and just a few months ago the “Dub Space” together with Jannowitz' favourite Diatonik from India. 
Now he is back, once again showcases his powerful baseline heavy style of modern electronic music. “Sunfire” is a comparably small EP for Jannowitz standards. It consists of two tracks and one remix. Very basic but the perfect way to highlight two very special productions and to give one outstanding remixer the space to work with Maksim's stems. 
“Sunfire” is the main track that - in true Maksim Dark manner - lives off a melodic baseline and variations in the lower frequencies until suddenly the melody spirals towards the heights and twists in diverse ways, climaxing in dance floor ready breaks making “Sunfire” a true weapon. 
A little bit more progressive, more straight forward is what you could call the second Original, “Pulsating”. There is not really much you need to describe other than the name it self. “Pulsating” seems to be pulsating from within. The melodic synth elements that come into play after an merciless break give a dark and industrial touch. 
For the remix, Drumcomplex, also a dear friend of the label and a more than well known producer in Germany and beyond, took “Sunfire” and created his own version of it. His remix is more loopy, more tooly, taking the best parts of the original and creating a vibe with a stronger kick, less focus on the baseline and more on the dance floor.

This month's release marks the start of what you could call a new era at Jannowitz Records. Over the last few months and even years it has been our concept to showcase original tracks and remixes on most EPs. But things change. And there is so much good original content out there that we thought to ourselves: The world needs to see this. With this EP we introduce the new Jannowitz split releases two tracks by two artists each and that's it. 

This very first one being brought to you by two buddies uber producers SILES and Raul Facio. By now you should be familiar with the latter. Raul broke through on Jannowitz Records with his Cid Cid EP a release that was remixed by Italian powerhouse Mr. Bizz.

Raul Facio's sound is more driving with rolling basslines underneath his tracks Strat and Atomized. Both build up nicely towards breaks in their seconds thirds which feel like a climax releasing its full energy with a spectacular drop. Strat and Atomized are similarly percussion-heavy and well-produced but completely different with the Mexican's personal touch to it. All four tracks work perfectly together making our first split EP Tombstone a very exciting peek into the next steps of Jannowitz Records.
