This is sooo thrown together, maybe oneday I'll re-record a better version who knows, I'm meant to be finishing uni work right now but I finally finished this today after like, a year of not being happy with it...
Really, this song should be called 'Let You Go' or something but I genuinely could not bring myself to go that generic. So it's called 'And Counting' because every chorus the time-scale for the line 'x weeks/months and that's all I can say' expands every time, 'cause the song is meant for those sort of slow-kill loves where everything has been said over and over again, there's no awful fallout - you just have to move on, but you can't and as you keep putting the weeks behind you, it just keeps coming back. Also, the line 'I’d wait out this forecast  if It could mean that we’d outlast the rain' should probably be 'i'd wait out YOUR forecast' because the line means 'I'd wait out/accept your uncertainty for the future if it means we'll stay together for now (the rain being the other persons uncertainty).  Line was originally going to be 'i'd wait out your uncertain forecast' but syllables.

Pretty basic instrumentals on this, but the whole thing with this song is the simplicity - it's this sincere well-wish for that moment where some past person pops into you're head and you're just like '... you know what, i hope they've found someone truly good for them' and thats all. So yea, happy song! Sister no. 2 gets credit for the chords

May I present my baby, ‘End Of The Night’. I’m happy because I feel like this is my most sucessful development of an idea/concept into a proper pop song. I hope that if you’re listening that you like this - I tried to tell a story that people will roll their eyes at and be like ‘…Don’t I know’ - (Notice how the drums are like heartbeats, eyy). 

‘A deer in headlights beneth this chandleir’ – an early version of this song was going to tell the story of like, a high society ballroom night and a bad prince and was going to be really orchestral and dramatic but the tone didn’t fit with the heart of the song – but I kept that phrase because I loooooove that imagery, which for me so perfectly paints the picture in my head.
