PMD010 – Oldchap – Roof Top EP

Based in Paris, Oldchap’s mission is to make people dance. His mellow jam, ‘I’ve Got The Groovy Touch’ was featured on the ‘Funk Ride’ compilation (Editorial) in 2016. His new number, ‘Roof Top’ is a 3 track EP that is coming out soon on the Puro Music label.

Oldchap has made a bold transition from his previous release, with the ‘Above The Trees’ kicking things of in an uptempo fashion, full of deep house kicks and heavy horns. ‘French Tune’ , the next track on the EP, is a groovier take, backed up by jazzy chords and rhythmic basslines. A seductive sax is the key note in the breakdown.

Last but not least, ‘Roof Top’ takes the listener on a progressive trip with horns and deft percussion making the heart skip with joy. Marvellous debut EP by Oldchap, out soon on Puro Music.

Olivier Verhaeghe is an emerging Belgian talent who has already made his big entrance in the world of House and Disco, although he just started sharing his music with the world. He now crafts a crazy-dancing mood EP with “CALIENTE” on the Spanish label theBasementDiscos, a project that will absolutely develop his musical journey. 

“Sunny Deej” brings joy to the EP with a powerful and catchy vibe delivering great samples. Following “Cigarro” and “Drifting”, both tracks brings us a real melancholic rhythm adding some latino flavour to the EP. And last but not least, “NYC Subway Jazz” with the deepest sounds, combining a bunch of great instrumental jazzy elements. It even includes a remix by German producer Etur Usheo with his regular old school imprint. All of this tracks, inspired by jazz, old school House and Disco jams to create an awesome release for the house lovers.

Salin Records warmly welcomes Diamond to the family, a very talented, young producer based in Oxford (UK), who found a place in our heart. When Diamond reached out to us with a raw demo of "Target Blue" we couldn’t get the melody out of our heads for days. The track instantly put a smile on our face and with Alex Wilson's sax lines it spreads an enormous energy which made us feel as if we were 20 again. Later Diamond came up with "Pen Burns The Paper" and "You Like Jazz?" which built an awesome fundament for an artist EP. There couldn't be a better title than "You Like Jazz? EP" as it reflects the personality of the producer - Diamond, who has a kind of obsession with Jazz but at the same time is not too serious about it. We also welcome our dear friend Tour-Maubourg to the label. His breakient mix of "Target Blue" is a brilliant example of where inspiration can lead you if you just let it go. His talent for creating emotions is outstanding. Daria Salin adapted the power of Diamonds music in her painting. We are happy and proud to serve you Salin008 "Diamond - You Like Jazz? EP", an EP that deserves a special place in your record shelf.
