For the Season 1 final episode of his Movement's Radio residency, Figkott provides a sentimental mix, a proper closing house set of a dreamlike summer environment and during the second hour he invites over the amazing Rachel Noon for a really personal show that transfer us to NYC back in the 90’s.

In Rachel’s words: 
“Within the last few years I have come to understand that ‘raving’ or ‘being a raver’ is more about my own state of mind than anything else. I often refer to myself as a ‘rave spirit’ - and refer to many of my peers and dance floor partners in the same regard. When I started raving in the 90s I assumed it would be something that I would grow out of. Or rather, something one wasn’t ‘allowed’ to do as they ‘grew up.’ While I did take a huge break away from the dance floor in the 2000s - as I pursued other careers and focused my energy elsewhere - I now know that the rave spirit inside of me never left. Even while not actively raving, I was moving about the world as a raver. Investigating my own sense of freedom, liberation, and body/mind expression was something I learned on the dance floor, and is something I can also practice off the dance floor. The rave has prepared me to be fully me, even when my environment isn’t that of an underground party. The sense of ‘home’ I repeatedly discover so readily and profoundly on the dance floor is something I’ve been lucky enough to feel even while away from the actual rave. 
I wanted to share the story of my first rave experience, which was in NYC in 1996. I wanted to trace the trajectory from dancer to DJ - which actually happened by accident rather than intention. I wanted to share the line of my own nostalgia directly to a party I started in 2017 called Large Marge. Finally, I added some music that I have vivid memory of hearing on the 90s dance floors. I hope that adds sonic color to the story. 
I want to thank my partner Vovotte for pushing me to share, and share in ways that are unique and creative. Without her, I would have never had the courage to share my personal stories. In this "Radio Impuls" show, DJs and producers @juanavaleria(who also spins under the name @presea) and @sepbtt are guests. The two played the closing set at our Rempart Rave with Nick Léon in February. They are both originally from Colombia, but now live in Freiburg and Karlsruhe and organise, among other things, the party series “La ruta del jaguar” and “neon jngl club”, with which they showcase mostly club music or artists from Latin America and other regions of the global south. In the show, we talk about their ideas behind it and about some tracks by Latin American artists. In the second hour, they play a b2b set.

"Radio Impuls" is fundamentally about electronic music. The focus is on curiosity about the sound, history and developments of more experimental genres that evolve on the borders of club music. The spotlight is on the questions of how different subgenres influence each other, how this relates to the subcultural scene, certain artists, labels and places. On the sound level, the programme is a continuation of what the Impuls Crew in Freiburg aims to do by DJing and organising parties, among other things: To create curiosity in order to remain curious about different, new left-field sounds within electronic club music.

Always on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 22 h. The next show is on May 21st.
