Passion is about the feelings of angst, sadness, boredom, and anger I felt growing up and that I still feel at times. It is also about the false reality sold to us as teenagers and young adults and how once we reach a certain age or maturity, the veil of false hope is lifted, leaving us with a feeling of profound hopelessness. This song is about the feelings I've ignored for so long, trying to convince myself they weren't me and the feelings I didn't know how to explain, but these feelings are me, and I can explain myself through music.
