This road is Long, the ultimate New Year break-up song, was the first thing by The Lost Patrol we heard and ever since we became obsessed with their sound. Electronic music has come to the point when the absurd divisions in sub-sub-genres finally stopped making sense even for hipster music journos. So the umbrella terms Electronica and Bass became just synonyms for the musical output of composers trying to express themselves with a complete disregard of any tempo, instrumentation or structure rules. That encouraged music fans to stop being lazy and start exploring the vast horizon of great new electronic music. Some new stars were born in the process, and producers like Flume, xxyyxx and Hermitude managed to gain access to the media on the back of pure audience demand. Futt To Fino is a representative of this new breed of extremely talented producers who are creating the sound of tomorrow and very likely building the infrastructure for the new, better music industry of the future. Or at least, that is what we would like to believe is happening. The nerds among us will surely argue if his music is more chill-out or trap, if it is Bass or Leftfield and whether there is a hint of footwork present. We could not care less! What we are sure about, though, is that Pistol Love is only the introduction of a brilliant producer, who is just starting to awe us with his musical output.

Fill The Trees With Leaves is the third artist album by British electronic music producer Little Birds and it is an amazingly ambitious release. It almost seems like he challenged himself to show the world how much his sound has evolved over the years. The opening trio of songs (White Horses, Wriggle Pants and Feathered Friend) are in line with our expectations from his Black Acid series of EPs, but done with a twist. The atmosphere is a bit more relaxed and they include live instrumentation adding to the organic feel that will go on throughout the album. Things continue to unfurl with the lush and innocently beautiful Llyn Dulyn, Polit Elek and the title track which lead to the breaking point of the album - the brilliant Aphex-Twin-meets-Autechre influenced Jazzy Mums. Then, the big surprise hits us. The epic closing trilogy (High Rise, Harlech and Plateau) is the grandiose finale of Fill The Trees With Leaves. These three songs testify of a producer wandering out of his safe zone, growing as big as possible and arriving at an area reserved for the likes of Air and Groove Armada. After shaking the advertising world with the material released under his Pebble’s alias, Swedish super-producer Magnus Stenbacken has teamed with singer Victor Bryngnas and returns with a completely different project called Stranger Days. Energetic rock has been changed with electronica and the band members appear on the cover as retro, Frank Miller style, comic book superheroes. The first single Came Alive is a successful exercise in 80s influenced synth-wave, updated to match the current production standards of S U R V I V E, Mark Pritchard and the likes.
