We interview the Setlamorago Mashile aka Mash to look at how an artist can sustain artistic life through being a full-time artist. We go through his life and the steps that led him to be where he is today and look at his career, how decisions of  having a residency overseas and the impact it has had on his progress today. also looking at the different relationships he has had with various market participants in the art world including art galleries, funders, including working with other different artists and how he has noticed how these artists manage their financial affairs within the industry. He describes the different levels of success in the industry and how artist one can work towards achieving goals set.

Finance for Hippies is a South African interview format podcast for artists, creatives and designers with the objective of improving their financial literacy, and as a result guide them towards making better financial decisions in their professional practices. The podcast addresses the deep rooted problem of lack of financial products and content geared towards creative individuals in the market.
