Atmospheric 1959 reworking of "Early in the Morning" by Franie Laine with Alan Lomax's adapted lyrics. Real deal version of this on Lomax's Parchman Farm Prison Recordings Vol. 1
 
2. Evelyn Freeman conducting The Exciting Voices and Orchestra - Water Boy
Pure heat on the flip on the "Didn't it Rain" 7".... seek out all Evelyn Freeman recordings.
 
3. Frank Minion - Watermelon
Mr Minion pounding the streets of New Orleans selling his wares. Very elusive record on the amazing Bethleham label. Thankfully available as a great double sider reissue 45
 
4. Don Rondo - Quiet Girl
His official Jubilee Records biography says that the first audience Don Rondo sang to was 300 cows and two feed men.
 
5. Donald Jenkins and The Delighters - Elephant Walk (Native Girl)
From the jungles of Southside Chicago to the dancefloors of Belgium.
 
6. Bop A Loos - South Parkway Mambo
The inspiration for Andy Capp's (Lynford Anderson) Pop-A-Top sound that briefly swept Jamaica in the late 60s.

The Queen of Rhythm & Blues… one of my favourites from her. This record goes for pence.
 
8. Marv Johnson - Baby Baby
Fantastic double sider 7" from Berry Gordy's first signing to Motown. When Gordy first started Motown he didn’t have the money to release records himself so struck a deal with United Artists where they would release and distribute Motown releases.
 
9. Soul Bros - Soho
Used to be a big Spider John spin back in the late 80s. This always takes me back to those brilliant days of my youth.
 
10. Jackie Opel - Turn to the Almighty 
The patron saint of Barbados and godfather of Spouge. Alternative take which came out on Top Deck a few years back
 
11. Marv Johnson - Don't Leave Me
Found this for 50p a few months back and have been playing it solidly since. Beautiful heart rendering tale of the insecure lover.
 
12. The Cleftones - Some Kinda Blue
Popcorn Soul Perfection! Managed to get a copy of this 1963 beauty recently and play it over and over
 
13. Nana Mouskouri – L’eau Qui Dort
Yes Nana! Stunning version of Still Waters Run Deep from one of a series of French Eps she did in 1963
 
14. Jimmy Breedlove – Guardian Angel
The original of this on Okeh always goes for too much money.. as much as I love it, more than happy to just have it on a Stardust bootleg. Jimmy used to be a backing singer for Atlantic records.

From his brilliant LP The Man.  Watching Battlestar Galactica and Bonanza growing up, we never knew he was massive on the Popcorn scene

Dr. C. Stein - Selected Works 1983-1988 (JJ014 preview) (Releasedate: 4.11.2017)

There was a beautiful dessert sat placed atop the kitchen table, awaiting the diners to return to the room and embrace it with awe and might. A magma pie of the tallest order, a delicious treat which would leave them full for many days to come in the future. The room was dimly lit by candles and the environment rustic and humble, this was not a zealous feast but a polite meal. The baroque castle had become their home, a pretty kingdom with a wise old story. 

Wrong Water is the alias of St Petersburg based musician Eugenii Fadeev. He has previously released on the Glaswegian label 12th Isle and has received praise for his take on eclectic electronics. Now he turns his attention towards Kiev based label Muscut, an imprint to watch.

Behold Finders Keepers, a British record label, 40 years in the making, introducing fans of psychedelic, jazz, folk, funk, avant-garde and whacked-out movie musak to a lost world of undiscovered vinyl artifacts from the annals of alternative pop history.

Catering to record collectors and DJ-producers alike with a huge emphasis on sample friendly soundscapes, rocksteady back-beats and primitive electronic experimentalism. Discerning purveyors of the bizarre and abnormal should expect the Japanese choreography records, space-age Turkish protest songs, Czechoslovakian vampire soundtracks, Welsh rare-beats, bubblegum folk, drugsploitation operatics, banned British crime thrillers and celebrity Gallic Martini adverts... presented on CD, 7" and traditional black plastic discs in authentic packaging.

Following in the very same footsteps as the mind boggling "Music To Watch	Girls Cry" and "Songs In The Key Of Death" mix CDs for Fat City Records and the original 5-star rated Finders Keepers compilation LP in 2001, Manc-based vinyl-vulture, recording artist and record producer Andy Votel enlists the skills of fellow B-Music DJ and Rare Disc Detective Doug Shipton to form a team of psychedelic librarians and cosmic-pop-quiz-elitists to run their new Twisted Nerve distant sister-label, leaving no progressive pebble unturned or record collection un-rifled.

Future compilations and re-issues will feature collaborative curators such as David Holmes, Cherrystones and Bob Stanley and further contributions from mystery A- / B+ pop-celebrity fanatics of outsider music and ultra-rare bakelite discs. Finders Keepers is an 'accidental world music label' with a punk aesthetic and DJ friendly ethos which allows the desperate listener to sit back while we deliver schizoid cultural channel-hopping compilations and rocking-horse-shit & hen's-teeth re-releases to the comfort of your psych-starved living room...
