Our man in London is back on the label! Exactly 1 year after his first release on Dirt Crew and two very successful records on his own new imprint “Income Trax” and the New York based “Razor-N-Tape” label. Clive has been consistently growing his following this past year and refining his sound and production. So now we are truly excited to welcome him back, especially as this release will also be on a limited 12” vinyl.

The opener “Pearls” features the amazingly talented London based musician/ composer Jessica Roch on violin and vocals. It’s an uplifting electronica meets deep house track that shines with positivity and beautiful melodies based on an analogue synth foundation by Clive himself. Truly a new addition to Clive’s musical language.

The A2 track “4 Time” is a swinging groover featuring a lush deep beat topped with piano and strings stabs and consisting of great funk all over. Followed be the super fun “Rough and Tough” as first track on then B side. Clive really gives us his new summer anthem here as far as we are concerned. Dance floor happiness guaranteed and we can’t wait to hear this one in an open field and on a big sound system!

As a treat for all fans, we decided to give “Gravitate” the well-deserved vinyl spot as the closing track to this great new record. This jam got massive support over the last months and is Clive’s best performing track on the digital platforms. Here we remastered it especially for vinyl and it sounds doper than ever! Enjoy!

After rearranging our brains, and dance floors, with his Displacement LP on Rush Hour back in 2011, no stone went unturned in our efforts to find out just who was behind the Nebraska project. That search culminated last year with us pressing up his Stand Your Ground 12", and now, the London-based producer is back on Mister Saturday Night Records with the new three-track, sample-heavy EP, Look What You've Done To Me.

The title track is a lush, deep house roller based around some balmy Rhodes chords and an infectiously bumping baseline, while the tunes on either side of that borrow as much from the skippy, spirited disco of last year's "Emotional Rescue" as they do from the more graceful end of the dub techno spectrum. There's something for pretty much every hour of the party here.

Saturday Vibrations (Tilman's Evil Edit)

The yield of Sandrio and Crackazat’s collaboration is an epic journey that begins with a deep sonic palette, and over six minutes subtly transforms itself into synth-driven euphoria featuring lead tones that could make Kamaal Williams weak at the knees. The opening bars introduce a number of the track’s driving motifs; tasteful piano stabs are joined by a vocal sample drenched in delay, while the track’s muffled bass line inspires some serious toe tapping. An impression of the lead synth lurks in the background of the track for the first half, while the percussion gradually begins to jack a bit harder and filtered chords begin to stab through the midrange. The track does a fantastic job of creating a sense of anticipation throughout, and as it enters the final two minutes the payoff is a jam of the most jubilant nature imaginable, a signature of Crackazat’s productions that is sure to ignite even the most discerning dancefloors.

Next up on Heist is the fast-fingered synth wizard Crackazat for an EP full of crunchy chords, tight grooves and a remix by Detroit house royalty Rick Wade.

Crackazat’s fusion of jazz and house are a perfect match with the upbeat sound we dig over here at Heist HQ. So after his recent outing on Freerange with the brilliant “Valentine EP” and his regular work on Local Talk, we’re happy to have Crackazat feature on Heist.

The Alfa EP kicks off with the title track: A track full of bouncing piano riffs and skipping hihats for a serious dose of high energy house music. The frantic keys and drums are countered by a lead and dreamy pads with an almost ethereal vibe to it. But don’t be misled, this track is pure dancefloor heat and is exactly what we love about house music.

“Class one” goes into a more mellow direction, with warm fuzzy chords on the 1 and an eyes-shut lead solo with so much space it seems to be coming from a different galaxy. The whole track has such a comforting feeling; Like a thick blanket of chords warming you up and crystalline synth hits telling you everything will be all right. The energy does pick up around the 3 minute mark with another showcase of Crackazat’s excellent feel for chords, when he introduces another lovely loop to accompany the solo. Pure class.

On the flip, we’ve got Tiger’s eyes where we see Crackazat dive deep into jazzy harmonies. Here, arpeggios and crunchy overtones make for an intense ride of bumping house music that just makes you want to keep on dancing for hours on end.

The remix on this EP is by Rick Wade, another producer who’s got jazz running through his veins. It’ll be no surprise that his remix of “Alfa” is about as deep and old school as it gets. He goes for an amped bass and a big drum groove along with his own set of soulful chords and guitar licks. This remixes breathes the house that Detroit has been built on with Rick Wade as one of the main engineers of the genre.

We’re happy to dive into 2021 with this EP full of jazzy house grooves and we hope you’ll like it as much as we do.
