Introducing our next release Spinnet - Prime seven.
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Vassilis Kesalidis aka Spinnet has been working as a music producer since 2008, and can now showcase an impressively diverse range of electronic music through projects such as One Arc Degree, Fabrics, Space Scavengers and Speedhack, among others.
His solo work as Spinnet usually revolves around influences of drum & bass, techno, dub and ambient. With an extensive discography, he has released five LPs as well as numerous singles, EPs and remixes on various labels. 
Spinnet writes about his work as follows:  
Prime Seven , as an experimental track that tries to push the boundaries of 170 bpm. A clean, dry and nervous groove contributes to the sci-fi aesthetic, while ghostly robotic pads create an unsettling sense of unease. The track climaxes on a light note, and a gentle, soothing melody restores balance.”

My opening set with Dissent co-founder Richard (Zhangie) for BRLN 007. 

For this special event which is near and dear to me, I wanted to slowly sink the audience into the madness of the night that lay ahead, so I started us off with a special drawn-out dark ambient introduction (cut down a little for this upload), featuring one of my favourite vocal samples, eventually leading into our signature dark and deep techno sound. Richard would take the lead in the latter half of the set, upping the tempo and the intensity.

Forest is a young DJ based in Krakow who loves playing in several different styles, starting from dark disco and ending with acid and electro. He finds inspiration in surfing between genres and discovering the golden middle in everything, all while enjoying what he is passionate about. He is also a founder of the Krakow-based electronic music community Citadel and an initiator of a series of events featuring interdisciplinary genres of music.  

This set was recorded, inspired by a love for progressive trance.

With “As We Were Saying”, Bassiani resident Héctor Oaks presented his first full-length album. Two years later it’s time to share a new take on Oaks’ vision of rave culture. He brings together an intimate selection of fellow artists and the result is ‘often plus, never minus’ through and through.
DJ Stingray starts off with a dismantled version of “Forwarded State of Evidence”, he keeps the vocals and contrasts them with a metallic beat. Berlin’s Somewhen is next on A2 with a dancefloor-oriented version of “Is Imminent“, originally the opener of the album, now sped up and reworked.
Flipping to the B-side, things get deep: what’s striking about “Re-Improved Motto“ is how Voiski (a fellow Bassiani resident) has kept the beautiful melody of the original and steered it towards acid. Parrish Smith’s remix of “After All She Had No Reason To Stay” pushes through the darkness with a fast beat. Tribal drums and a luring melody complement the EP with “Horoom Reclusion” in a remix by Georgian artist Zesknel.
All in all, BASRMX01 has you think of sweaty club nights and pumped up dancefloors. If the cast of this remix EP was a line-up, you would definitely want to show up to the party.
