Fine Animal's "Old Dollar" was largely inspired by the the sampled recording of "Old Dollar Mamie" recorded in 1947 at the Lambert Camp at the Mississippi State Penitentiary, better known as Parchman Farm. 
The best single document of folklore work song and field holler tradition.  We loved that the song belonged not to one author or individual, but rather to spirit and tradition.

In our interpretation of "Old Dollar" we attempt to apply and intertwine the spirit of this old recording with some contemporary and futuristic sounds. Blending the best of old and new styles, we aspire to merge the hardships of the past with the so called "modern struggle" 

The end result is purely for your delight.

Subaqueous presents his 7th album, Shatter Spell. The album undulates through pulsing rhythms and swirling melodies to bring the listener to a hypnogogic state. It asks us to deeply look to the shadows within and take the steps needed into the light.
