Another song for a metalcore band that doesn't exist yet. Recorded at friend and bassist Craig Stoddart's house instead of the school mac for one (summer n' shit, ken). After being too apathetic to record anything for most of sixth year (seriously, we had a PS2 in the common room, no need for music tbh), I've recorded my first thing in approximately a while. Finally got around to getting a mac myself as opposed to using the school's, set up my pod and £85 telecaster copy, and threw this together. No bass, one two-bar drum loop, just two one-take guitar tracks. Feel free to download if you do so wish. This should also mark the beginning of me actually recording stuff again, and since the purchase of an Ibanez seven-string with EMGs, expect meatiness.

I tried writing prog metal. Not sure how it went.
I began by tuning the low E to an A (I think Foo Fighters used this tuning in Stacked actors, to get the bass-like sound of the intro riff). This gave me an octave interval to work with, as opposed to a fourth or fifth. It's also lower, and who doesn't love that?
The writing was odd. This has some rather interesting (I'm not saying good as such) drums that I programmed, like the groove in the 7/4 bit. And I didn't end up recording some of the counter melodies I wrote, I thought that would make it sound all muddy and shit.
Recorded as usual, Schecter 006 through Pod Farm and MIDI drums onto Garageband. But this time, I exported it as AIFF, so the quality's not too shit. The buy link is a download link for the MP3.
