[Log 01 ~ Fred Durst Friday]

I guess we had to get this over with eventually. Leave it to Eric to keep a blind eye on his contestants.
After the loss we took Fred out back behind the studio and showed him what he had to look forward to. Some... awful, glitchy, writhing mass in the back we've kept contained by pure luck. The "Darkness," we're calling it. Eric thinks it sounds tacky, but what does he know? He barely keeps this place afloat.

Neither of us do, really, but some of us try.

Fred seized up when he stared into the Darkness. He didn't seem to understand how bad things would really get when he lost; clearly the symbiote wasn't enough for him to make sense of anything. We shoved him towards the cell and he immediately fell to his knees, shaking uncontrollably. Venom coursed through his veins, spread further along his body, trying to take control — and then get him the hell out. Of course, that's not really an option they had, but... it's not like we blame him. I did the same.

Tendrils of Darkness leaked out of its cage. In one second Fred was all but black and pink, ready to make a break for it. In the next, it coiled around him, tried to drag him back - I think I saw him land a punch, but if it did anything it sure as hell didn’t show it. At some point he just… disappeared entirely - there one second, gone the next. Couldn’t even tell he was in the room with us.

Right as I turned to leave, though, I heard Fred speak to me. I turned back to see... him, there, in the cage. Or at least what became of him. It’s all just… black. There’s stuff off the back of him, tentacles I think, that kept breaking apart only to pool back into him. I assume that’s Venom, but I can’t say I understand what happened to Durst. Must be under the symbiote-y stuff still. I don’t remember what he said, but I couldn’t hear it properly, anyway. Sounded like he was trying to speak over a buzzsaw…

...Maybe it gets easier after seeing one first-hand. I can only hope.
