Pleasant inbox surprise, redux. About a week after posting Sublight's gorgeous mix, I received another one from Orlesko, a DJ and producer, with a self-described sound as "a good cup of chai — full of rich, diverse flavours and delivering a boost of serotonin."

His thirst for new sounds, appreciation for underground artists and community building lead him to work at Treehouse Records (Foosh) in Edmonton, Canada. Promoting parties in his home city, to hosting his own, he developed as a tastemaker with shows on CJSR 88.5FM Community Radio and went on to play gigs and festivals throughout Western Canada, Black Rock City, Amsterdam, Germany, Brazil, Australia. 

Whether he is programming a drum machine with groovy rhythms, or spinning a blissful ambient soundscape journey on a pair of Techs — it’s clear that his ear has been refined through years of personal experience and artistic exploration.

“It’s enjoyable to set aside time and listen to music. Not having ambient music playing in the background, or your phone constantly buzzing but, really focusing on the soundscapes created by the record; on a nice sound-system being entranced by with the tunes mixed together. (Might be a little harder to do in the tubski yet, I bring my studio monitor with a towel overtop sometimes. Haha) Hope these two hours are reflective, relaxing and hopeful. But it's not the usual to be allowed to release material like this. @Casimir-music gave the softness and warmth of @Yataomusic's handpans a well rounded remodeling, gently infusing it with buzzing downtempo vibes. One mix for the softer moments, the other made to stomp the ground. Creating a mystical world and a journey for your ears.
