Rebecca Goldberg is a DJ, producer, live performer and designer from Detroit, MI. Since her debut release, 313 Acid Queen, she has been affiliated with the multidisciplinary arts collective, Detroit Underground.

Women in Vinyl Mission Statement: Empowering women, female-identifying, non-binary, LGBTQ+, BIPOC and otherwise marginalized humans working in the industry to create, preserve and improve the art of music on vinyl.

The Women in Vinyl Podcast is meant to enhance and expand what the platform already exists to do, facilitate conversations with those working in the vinyl record industry to educate, demystify and diversify the vinyl community.

For mix number 22 in the PPRZ Podcast series, we have a mix from Detroit's @dretraxx

Detroit producer and DJ, Dretraxx, submits his latest live set recorded at Marble Bar in Detroit from January of 2024. Using a MPC Live 2, A&H MixWizard Z3, x0xb0x, Chronoblob 2, and Mutable Instruments Clouds, he weaves bullfrog downtempo, Midwest warehouse siren techno, demented breaks, feral atonal melodies, unlawful dubs, and paranoid 2-step UKG, all dosed heavily with acid and 70’s anti-drug PSA sublimations.

Dretraxx is the founder and head honcho of Body Worx, Detroit’s premier club monthly at Temple Bar. Entering its tenth year, Body Worx is an ode to Midwest dance music and beyond; focused, of course, on gritty jack beat, acieeed aberrations, and old skool rarities of days past.

With releases on the Body Worx imprint, PITS, and Junted, he is also one half of the duo Deoxyt and associated with the legendary crew rave, Equalizer.

Our very own discogs addict and all hands on deck man Sam Luke aka Skip Wooznam drops our latest Phonica Friends & Family mix. The mix is one for the deep diggers and chin strokers as well as the party goers and all nighters out there. Sam looks after alot of our online orders that go out worldwide as well as taking to the counter when we are in the height of it but this has not stopped him representing us at some of our big 20th birthday celebrations last year at the likes of Junction 2 and opening room 3 at Fabric. You can also catch Sam playing around London at Slipped Disc and Club Hiatus where he holds residencies.
Bringing his own taste and sound to our crew we are delighted to welcome him to the series. We had a brief chat with Sam about the mix and what he's got going on outside of these walls!

@sarahwreath is a Berlin-based DJ, sound practitioner and sound engineer. If listening, collection, and selection have been daily habits since her youth, the processes of production and the exploration of frequencies became the most important practices of her last years in Berlin.

In order to expand her knowledge of physical mechanics and the technical aspects of music, she has dedicated herself full-time to sound research and music production since 2020. In Sarah’s vision there’s no prevailing preference over the role of producer or DJ - no hierarchical distinction amongst the club’s dancefloor, the acoustic hall or healing sound bath.
In the same perspective, both the creator and the careful selector of music & sound are entrusted with the power of touching the body-mind complexities of listeners and dancers with forceful acoustic messages.

'Spinning Grounds' by @katharina-davids is all about opening grounds for newcomers to spin their music - to explore genres from house, Detroit, dub techno to break beat.
