Era apenas un muchacho,
de sandalias rotas y pan escaso,
que mendigaba palabras en las plazas
y dormía bajo los olivos desgastados.

Lo llamaban Eliam,
y nadie notaba su paso,
pero su alma era clara como el agua
que escaseaba en los campos.

Un día, al borde de un sendero,
se cruzó con un hombre vestido de polvo y silencio.
Tenía los ojos que iluminaban y la cara cansada,
y hablaba con la paz de quien ha vencido al miedo.

—¿Tienes hambre? —preguntó el Hombre.
—De pan... y de algo que no entiendo —dijo el niño.

Jesús sonrió con el dolor de los que saben,
y le ofreció su mano.
—Entonces sígueme. Aún queda luz antes del llanto.

Caminaron juntos hasta el huerto sagrado,
donde la sombra de la cruz ya se respiraba,
y allí, en la noche donde el alma llora,
Jesús se detuvo, miró al muchacho,
y con voz tenue le dijo:

—A ti te muestro lo que aún no es.
No para que temas,
sino para que cuando llegue,
reconozcas la señal.

Jesús colocó sus dedos sobre su ojo derecho,
y en un gesto lento y solemne,
se lo quitó como quien abre un portal sellado.
Lo colocó en la palma del niño
y el mundo se detuvo.

Eliam cayó de rodillas.
El ojo brillaba como un sol contenido.
Y al mirar por el hueco
donde el ojo estaba, vió…

los cielos girando de modo extraño,
como si el eje del mundo se hubiera quebrado.
Las nubes eran verdes y caian piedras calientes,
el mar hervía como sangre agitada.
Ciudades colapsaban sin sonido,
y hombres y mujeres corrían,
clamando por agua, por aire,
por un Dios que ya no respondía.

En el centro del caos,
había fuego.
Pero no el fuego divino,
sino uno creado por las manos del hombre,
alimentado por orgullo, codicia, y olvido.

Eliam quiso gritar.
Pero no tenía voz.
Y cuando volvió en si, sus ojos volvieron a encontrar a Jesús,
este tenía lágrimas de sangre.

—Apocalipsis —le susurró el Maestro,
—Y tú, Juan... lo escribirás cuando llegue el momento.
