Commissioned by Musica Electronica Nova Festival Wrocław for NeoQuartet, co-financed by Polish Ministry of Culture

My second string quartet is animated by the wish to articulate a more intimate politics around queer distress and desires. The text, written by Jamie Shi, responds to and cares for the gifts and contributions by Wojtek Blecharz, Nico Navarro Rueda, Stellan Veloce and Weronika Wro Wrzesińska. The video is a kind of dialogic overdub that paces this immersive sound ritual, taking its cues from the late Barbara Hammer.

I’m too poor in this world, and yet not poor enough…after RILKE, a soundpoem

RIG (electric guitar and live electronics) is inspired by ‘re-amplification’: the process of recording a direct signal from the guitar to be sent to amplifiers later. In RIG, this process is automated with the use of computer signal processing, along with complex overdubbing sequences to produce a unique sound world. Six speakers are spread across the stage, each with a different tonal quality reflecting different guitar amplifiers. As the sound moves around the space, subtle changes in tone are produced.
