Words can not begin to describe all the feelings that the Crop Psycles Collective stir up within me, even as I type an uncontrollable smile has erupted on my face! Each and every member shines in their own special way as they share their knowledge, skills, humour, playful vibes and unconditional kindness with each other and the wider community.

I am beyond thankful for the time and energy invested by all of the crew over the years to continually create cosy welcoming spaces for all to enjoy...Always inspired by the creativity, in awe of the presision tarping - truly a sight to behold! And now humbled by their hospitalitea this particular weekend as I accepted an invite to play music as well as many many games!(The mini golf tale of kismet is one for the books!)

There is no denying the ripple effect from the epicentre of this crop cluster and the good they are doing with their precious time on Earth is just so damn impressive it makes me feel like one lucky gal to be in their orbit!

My 12th year performing at Priceless was the most fun I've had yet. Thank you to all of the planners, volunteers, and attendees that make Priceless happen. Deep gratitude to the musicians who made the music in this set, especially previous Priceless guests El Búho (@el-buho), David Last (@davidlast), and Rumpistol (@rumpistol). 

Special shout out to my forever inspirations for Forest vibes - Ganucheau (@ganucheau) and Dr. Toast (@drtoast). It still feels like everything I do with music is trying to do for others what they have done for me.

Love. What does it mean to you? There is a vast spectrum of how we experience love, perceive it, feel it, express it, and create it. During the month of February, I played two sets right around Valentine’s Day that had me organizing all my “love music.” I started to think about  all that love means to me. I noticed that in recent years, I’ve found myself searching for love in the form of a romantic relationship. Searching for a person who wants to receive my love and travel with me on this journey of life. With all that has passed, I’ve often thought, what can I do differently, what can I do better, what is it about me that is too much or not enough? In the midst of my reflections, I happened to come across the following quote by feminist writer, teacher, activist, and scholar Bell Hooks. She says, “I think that part of what a culture of domination has done is raise that romantic relationship up as the single most important bond, when of course the single most important bond is that of community.” It resonated with me so profoundly that I read it out while introducing myself before one of my sets. It made me more cognizant of the fact that the unending support of my community is what has carried me through the empty valleys of the lows. All that I am, all that I have, all that I can be, is rooted in community. I’m so grateful for all of you who are part of my life and continue to invest your time and energy into our relationship. It has been a hard last 6 months. With work causing me to retreat from my usual relationships, I have felt like an absent friend to many. A friend who hasn’t shown up isn’t who I want to be, and it hasn’t felt good. Nevertheless, I feel you. I get your messages of support. I know you are there for me even when I’m not able to be there for you, and that is so appreciated. While my community has carried me through my lows, you’ve also lifted me up to my highest highs. The collective joy we create on the dance floor is absolutely incredible. Bell Hooks writes in All About Love: New Visions, “whether we learn how to love ourselves and others will depend on the presence of a loving environment. Self-love cannot flourish in isolation,” and in a separate passage, “rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” I wouldn't know how to love all parts of myself and others if it wasn’t for the loving environment that I am supported by. This community propels me to love more, to be love, and to embody it in my everyday interactions. I heal when I am with you. This last quote by Hooks is a reminder of how I can continue to grow my practice of love in my life and expand my notion of community. “We can begin the process of making community wherever we are. We can begin by sharing a smile, a warm greeting, a bit of conversation; by doing a kind deed or by acknowledging kindness offered to us. Doing this, we engage in love practice [... and] we lay the foundation for the building of community with strangers. The love we make in community stays with us wherever we go. With this knowledge as our guide, we make any place we go, a place where we return to love.” This mix is a dedication to you, my community. My best friends. My family. My loves. Reggae Influenced Set - Supporting L'entourloop Live @ Village Underground London

Never Stop Dancing is a mix series dedicated to all those who find themselves locked in the groove, time and time again. To those who find themselves eyes closed, lost in the music. To those who say "one more song" more than once. To those who live for the collective joy, community, and boundless self-expression of the dance floor. To those who never stop dancing. This mix series is focused on amplifying the sounds of DJs and producers in the Kootenays and British Columbia who honour the rich tradition of house, disco, and techno in their sets.

Never Stop Dancing 12 is a playful mix by none other than Kootenay veteran, mother, and all around wonderful human, Lady V. Lady V has been a staple of the Kootenay underground scene for many years. Her signature chugging yet driving sound consistently captivates dancers, locking them in a deep, bouncy, hypnotic groove for hours on end. Many moons ago, I stumbled across Lady V playing a set at my favourite stage in the Kootenays, and thought to myself, “this is it – this is the place.” Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Lady V, and have grown an appreciation for her humility, kindness, and passion for her tasteful, slow-house sonic journeys. Her selections always transport me back to the blissed out mornings at the open airs in Köln. Her Never Stop Dancing mix is a seamless, groove-laden journey that’ll have you wanting more. Enjoy!

Old Ben has a keen sense for tasteful, soulful, beats that get a dance floor moving. What's more, he's a stand up guy with a heart of gold. Old Ben is the best man you want by your side at your wedding, the dude who will build a stage for your music festival, the cousin who will buy you a $600 laser. He's always up for a good time and for a boogie with the time is right, and can always be counted on to get the dance floor moving. This set of his is a true testament to Old Ben's ability to find and meld rare, slow, and sensuous house music into a cohesive story. I am honoured that Old Ben spent the time to put it together for me, and I'm so excited to share it with you. 

Old Ben Bio: At the turn of the century the Kootenay rave scene was starting to pop off, and this geezer was there for it. He quickly fell in love with the music and culture. The art of partying and the art of throwing a good party. Most of all, the joy of finding new music and sharing it. Over the years new sounds emerged, genres rising and falling, and through it all he developed a keen ear for music that stands the test of time and speaks to the heart. Old Ben sets are soulful and discerning, serving up beats with the smooth sophistication of a fine wine.

THE TUMBLEDOWN BLUES (LIVE @ NORTHERN NIGHTS FESTIVAL) : 
It's 2:30am and in a fast-paced, ever changing world  I’m dropping a downtempo mix that blazes a slow, achy trail across the American West. Festooned with ghost towns, rusticating prairie graves and lonesome crows, this collection of tunes lends you doleful voices, blues guitars, twangy banjos and the stuttering ragtime of vintage pianos. Its sideshow twin is the conjoined grumble and grime of downtempo bass. The cadence does have moments of upswing; ribald bar rooms and scurrying outlaws make a momentary presence. But the coffee-meets-whisky approach makes this sonic libation yet another perfect slow-sipper as the soundtrack for your wayward soul.
