Melbourne based pianist Fionn O’Sullivan is beginning to cement his dynamic and expressive style throughout Melbourne’s live music scene. Beginning playing piano at an early age, he has now developed a dynamic and melodic style to his improvisational playing.

Studying his Bachelor of Music in Melbourne and New York, he’s performed all over the East-Coast of Australia with some of Melbourne’s leading musicians. Some performance highlights include Bennett’s Lane Jazz Club, Uptown Jazz Club, Federation Square, Rutherglen Wine Festival and the Melbourne Jazz and Fringe Festival.

Presently, his time is mainly concentrated on his solo playing and his original Funk/Soul band, the Marionettes. Having a residency since 2013 at Melbourne’s prestigious Regent Club, Fionn has released his debut solo album titled ‘Rendezvous At The Regent’ recorded live during the summer of 2013. As well as this, Fionn is the pianist, composer and arranger for the Marionettes whom are releasing their debut EP in April 2014 titled ‘Can’t Wait For The Weekend’.

Fionn is continually exploring his ‘sound’ and is constantly developing his proficiency in a range of genres, compositional techniques and creative musical concepts. Look forward to the release of his second solo album in late 2014.
