INTERLUDE. Fionn leaves the Boyne river and Finnegas, leading his way to Tara, the Seat of Kings. We can hear the horns of the Fianna followed by the theme of the great city. The music gets gradually darker as we hear Aillen approaching.

ACT II OVERTURE. The shores of the river Boyne. The music reminds us of Demne's (now Fionn) duck hunt and presents us the Druid Finnegas, who afterwards storms onto the stage, complaining about his failure to catch the legendary Salmon of Knowledge.

Tara's Awakening

Cormac, the king of Tara is hopeless. At the beginning of the scene, we find him sitting on his throne, lamenting the city's approaching destruction. He is torn between the memories of glorious past and fading hopes for the arrival of someone, who will save the city. When will the saviour come?

After an orchestral introduction of the characters, the frustrated druid Finnegas storms into the stage, complaining, on one hand how hard it is to catch the Salmon of Knowledge, and on the other reassuring himself in his success. The polarity of his mood is changing very fast.
