When I started producing Protagonist, it was supposed to be a trance song. First, I created a rolling bassline and some trance melodies but for some reason the track slowly evolved into a techno song, lol. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing!

The original melody and the bassline are there but not as prominent as they used to be. I chose this direction because the track simply worked better this way. In fact I was aiming for a similar style than my track Revolution but for this song it just didn’t work. 

All in all I’m glad I didn’t force this track to be a trance song because I absolutely like how it turned out to be. The drop melody is very punchy and powerful and the second drop introduces even more energy and variety. I think that the name Protagonist fits this song very well.
