"Between Two Breaths" is a calm, organic journey in sound.
It begins with a warm handpan and slowly unfolds - with gentle rhythms, airy vocal textures, bansuri flute and soft, natural tones. The music plays with breath, space and movement: sometimes flowing, sometimes still, always connected to nature and quiet presence.

This isn’t pop and it isn’t about effect - it’s a living, breathing piece of music somewhere between ambient, world-influenced sound and cinematic atmosphere. Music for arriving. For feeling. For simply being.

This track may also be the beginning of a small series in this style - and perhaps, one day, these songs will come together as an EP or album.

Between Two Breaths

Spinning a new leaf for 2026, co:clear presents ‘Imago’ – a pristine collection of modern-classical electronica from Burning Pyre. With impeccable vocal offerings from Australian poet 3NDLES5 and Shell Company lead-vocalist Rosabella Allen, this album represents a broadening of horizons for the Newcastle upon Tyne denizen, who also heads up the Eastern Nurseries imprint.

There’s a poignant sensibility throughout this body of work: thoughtful melodic stabs pair delicately with emotive ambience and precise textural specks. It’s a sonic blossoming that lays its roots in atmospheric-ambient divagations, yet over time blooms with enveloping subs and skittering percussion – flowering fresh strains of dub, downtempo and trip-hop.

six people on a field
a horse in the woods
a dance in the dunes

applause and congrats
a film nobody sees
with the steering wheel
through weeks of bad sleep

I really don't know
if it was right or wrong

it came from my heart

This track revisits an older piece that I posted  few years ago.  It is based on a midi recording of me trying to play the piano, but was heavily edited to cover up all the mistakes I tend to make.  I was never fully happy with the piece, even after the editing as the original sound quality, although full, perhaps had too much reverb that tended to lose some of the details.  

I have both edited the track at an individual note level as well as increasing the tempo in quite a few sections.  I have also experimented with a way of trying to give a greater spatial sense to the sound,  including the thought that the listener is also the player, or sitting right behind them.  

Any comments on the music itself or the sound production would be appreciated as always,  And as always, thank you for listening.
