French maestro Art Of Tones collaborates with one of house music’s most celebrated artists Inaya Day for an unforgettable Glitterbox release, ‘Give My Love’. A moniker of longstanding producer Ludovic Llorca, Art Of Tones was created in the noughties as an outlet for his edgier house and disco work, leading to celebrated releases including certified house anthem ‘The Rainbow Song’ and his first Art Of Tones album ‘Unbalanced’ in 2018. For this latest release, Ludovic enlists American songwriter Inaya Day, the hitmaker known for seminal house classics including Mousse T.’s ‘Horny’, Harry Romero’s ‘Rise Up’ and Prince cover ‘Nasty Girl’. From the very start, ‘Give My Love’ is dripping in the modern sound of disco these two helped establish, with Inaya’s powerful vocal and songwriting prowess supported by Art Of Tones’ expert instrumentation.

Named King of the Edit since the 1980’s, pioneering Manhattan DJ Danny Krivit’s (aka Mr K) latest delivery instils the title bestowed upon him some 30 years ago. An esteemed selector Danny’s prolific remixing and production capabilities have touched hundreds of records – with his signature flare shaping the New York City sound. Opening the two-track release is Danny edit this summer’s seminal track The Vision’s ‘Heaven’, interweaving a gloriously groovy bassline with Andreya Triana’s vocal to produce an extended, DJ friendly mix that he sent crowds wild with at Dekmental Festival. Up next, Mr K delves a little deeper into the Defected catalogue, trying his hand at The DangerFeel Newbies’ ‘What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal)’. Danny’s stripped back version extends the jazzy, percussive original, as velvety smooth vocals and elegant keys bring this expressive and sophisticated release to a close.

When Mike Dunn released his Classic Music Company debut ‘My House From All Angles’ last year, the album was met with critical acclaim, The Guardian writing: “God may have made him funky, but Mike Dunn has kept it going ever since.” Now, two stand out cuts from the LP are given the remix treatment, enlisting some of the label’s closest cohorts to re-work these two irresistible hip-house jams. Up first, Peppermint Jam boss Mousse T. opens the release, weaving in his signature bouncy melodies and funk-flavoured grooves into ‘If I Can’t Get Down’. Up next, Classic label-mate and house expert Oliver Dollar brings in a raw, edgier sound on his Boomty Mix of ‘DJ Beat That Shhh’, with an aptly bumping bassline. Mike Dunn - If I Can't Get Down (Mousse T.'s Funky Shizzle Mix)

Following the release of their acclaimed debut album The Vision, Ben Westbeech and Kon unveil a sublimely arranged remix package of one of the standout cuts from the LP, ‘Down’ featuring Detroit soul trio Dames Brown. Opening with The Vision’s blissful original, with its warm percussion and string-drenched interludes, ‘Down’ highlights the soul and funk leaning side of The Vision’s sound. Snatch! label boss Riva Starr delivers his house roller of a mix next, taking a more dancefloor-focussed approach with filtered bass wobbles and irresistible loops, while maintaining the vitality of ‘Down’ that makes it special. Closing out the release is 45 Queen Natasha Diggs, who delivers a hazy, deeply groovy version of the record, richly instrumented with long, expressive keys and rhythmic percussion.
