Next up, we have @pasquineldj, a producer and deejay from Amsterdam. He started back in 2012 as part of a dynamic duo called ‘GADO X GADO’, throwing weekly parties at Chicago Social Club. He is known for his edits and playing eclectic sets ranging from HipHop, R&B, Disco and especially FutureBeats.

Over the last few years he started making a name for himself as a producer, getting worldwide recognition for his edits, making sure they are as eclectic as his sets. Borealism returns with his Sophomore release on Inner Ocean, ﻿Ripples in the Stream﻿, his most important work to date!  Borealism is on a whole other level when it comes to sculpting sonic worlds, a perfect balance between light and dark.  Opening the album with Grievances and Bewitched, moods both deep and powerful, with bass lines that will bring a tear to your eye.   Delightfully contrasted with Borealism's more ambient side, Fly, Little Blackbird  and Soleil Noir, so incredibly warm and enriched with feeling.  To complete the perfect package we pressed a limited number of LP's, a physical format that perfectly expresses these audio vibes.  

Simple put we love this album!  It's music and artists like this that get us up every morning and do what we do.  Enjoy!

Our Guest Bx94, provides us with a stunning CDX014 guestmix! Bx94 is a hiphop inspired culturally infused beats alter-ego of an elusive artist from New York. 
Of Turkish descent, our guest gains inspiration from  Zeki Muren and Erkin Koray as well as masters like Fela Kuti and Mulatu Astatke.

Bx94 also occasionally produces as Germanic, his minimal house project, where he exlpores eerie and mystical soundscapes. In his own words, this music is supposed to "capture the listener in an emotional state of pure stimulation."

As the founder of Baklava Tapes he explores a plethora of beatmakers with oriental, turkish, and jazz influences. The label was established in 2016 to cater a specific type of space. A chill cafe or rooftop setting. The music is mostly free and 100% of the digital album sales are given to the artist. 

CDX014 to honour the mix, we created a visual mix, entirely made with the lo-fi video equivalent of tapes, GIFs. A short movie of sorts 🎥. Check for excerpts on our Facebook page and Stay tuned for the full movie.
