First Lady Bio

Born in Gaithersburg MD on July 8th 1988, first Lady (Sierra Dale Carter) came into this world "wailing" as her parents describe it!

Since about age 2, she has identified vocally with any music played. Early on latching onto Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. All powerhouses in their own lane! 

As each year passed, she tested and expanded her vocal ability and range by imitating whomever she heard. Waking up every single day and the first thing on her mind....SINGING! The only reason she isn't singing is if she's listening, talking, or sleeping! 

Self- Taught vocalist, by age 14 she realized she had something more than average skill. She entered her first school talent show and immediately became addicted to the stage, performing live, and instant recognition of her gifts!!

Diving into movies to study more about her favorite musicians/singers/entertainers, she wanted to learn from their mistakes, see how they accomplished success in their lanes and what it took to create & maintain global momentum!

All through high school she entered every talent show/showcase as practice and to stay comfortable performing! After graduating in 2006, she went right into Montgomery College only focused on academics, and paying bills. In her mind, there was no time for music!

Still doubting her ability to write original music, she was perfectly content with singing at family functions, weddings, funerals, etc. 

It wasn't until January 1st 2013 that she was invited to a recording studio for the first time. The intention was to create something original and acclimate her with recording, writing, & editing. 

After that first night at So Smooth Studios (Mally King - Triple S Music Group CEO), she was hooked/addicted/connected for life to the creation process! Creating magical music from the heart with amazing engineers/producers/writers! 

Her next goal was to continue to record new music, and begin to perform it locally in the DMV. 

2 years later, she is currently working on "The First Lady Project" to release in January 2016! Performing solo original music each week at DMV showcases, networking and connecting with promoters and event coordinators, other local artists, videographers, musicians, etc. 

What's up next for The First Lady? The sky's the limit!
