WE hoped it wouldn’t be long before Tominori Hosoya [aka Tomi Chair] stepped up to the decks for us. The Japanese artist has earned many an admirer throughout the house and techno arena with his beauteous and emotionally-charged productions for savvy labels such as Batti Batti, deepArtSounds, Minuendo, Soul Print Recordings and many more, whilst his warm, open and generous nature has earned him countless friends around the world. 

Quite possibly the hardest-working man in electronic music and without doubt one of the most charming, the super-talented Hosoya has also recently released his first long player, the elegant Halfway [listen/buy here: https://www.juno.co.uk/products/tominori-hosoya-half-way/701673-01/], through his own label TH Pressing.

He mixes a mean set too. Meandering from deep house to melodic techno and from minimal to downtempo, drawing on ambient tones and jazzy vibes and featuring tracks from his own album, all strung together with an uplifting thread, Hosoya’s exclusive hour-long mix is an absolute treat.

ALESSANDRO Crimi is undoubtedly our kind of man. Because whether producing, running the imperious vinyl-only boutique label Waehlscheibe or DJing, especially DJing, the Austrian-born, Swiss-raised artist always brings that elusive deepness that can only be felt, never faked, to the [turn] table.

Having grown up with a love of, amongst others, Pink Floyd and Depeche Mode records gleaned from his parents’ collection, piano lessons eventually made way for experimentation with electronic gear and led almost inevitably to his production debut in the early noughties. Now a seasoned artist with quality releases on the likes of Italic, Open Recordings and Agnès’ Sthlmaudio Recordings to his name, Crimi the artist became Crimi the label boss too in 2012 with the launch of Waehlscheibe [check out here: https://waehlscheibe.bandcamp.com], a welcoming home to such deep-leaning names as Dubbyman, Marco Nega, P. Laoss and, of course, the man himself. 

But it is behind the decks that you feel Crimi is perhaps most at home. So we were beyond stoked when he agreed to put together number three in our podcast series, a blissful hour plus of proper, grown-up deep electronic business.
