This is the third (or debatably, 2.5th? 2.5nd?) record I put together as a youngster learning my way around composition + production, under an initially nameless solo project that I retroactively named "trees manufacture" not long after making this album.

The album art here is a placeholder, just a crop of one of my Easy Answers logo mockups. I'm not 100% sure anymore exactly when I finalized this record, nor whether I originally included an album cover, as I need to pick up some adapters to access my old external drives. (You can help me with that on Venmo @SinBlack or Cash App at $inistraBlack.) It was sometime between 2005-2007, when I was 20-22.

What I do remember is being late to my own "album release" meetup / listening party because I frantically editing the tracks up until the last possible second and beyond, while I kept texting my friends to swear that I was still coming lol. When I finally showed up, we listened on my car stereo because it was the best sound system I had access to.

Hope you enjoy this candid glimpse into some of my early creative impulses and how they manifested while I didn't really "know what I was doing."

Hope you enjoy this candid glimpse into some of my early creative impulses and how they manifested while I didn't really "know what I was doing." When I listen back to this, I can still see a clear throughline to the way I think about creativity and narrative today. That said, I bet you can guess a few of the artists I was heavy into at the time...
