A suite composed for a large ensemble of improvising musicians. All of my interests, ranging from 20th century music, Japanese aesthetic philosophies, literature, mythological stories from all around the world and many other has somehow found a place in this piece. An artist trying to paint the portrait of a faceless man, a frozen landscape, collective meditations and glimpses of mythological landscapes, such as Elysian Fields, River Styx and Asphodel Meadows can be found hidden in corners within the suite.

Premiered in Conservatoriumzaal, Amare Den Haag.

Meditation II

Fırtına Kıral is a composer, drummer and sound designer based in the Netherlands who merges minimalist and contemplative elements to compose music for solo, chamber and orchestral settings that focuses on creating tranquil worlds and telling a story. With influences from various musical genres and being deeply inspired by aesthetic philosophies such as minimalism, negative space and asymmetry, he explores the subtle interplay between structure and spontaneity, aiming to craft immersive experiences that evoke introspection and depth. He currently holds a MA in composition and jazz studies from Royal Conservatoire Den Haag and BA in composition and sound technologies from Istanbul Bilgi University. On addition to his chamber and large ensemble works, he also composes and produces for films, multidisciplinary works and media.
