Biography:
Umair Kaakar from Lahore, Pakistan is the founder of Field of Folks, exploring music since he knows his life, began his training as a DJ in 2018 and entered in the dimension of production and underground scenes. Unperalleled dedication and passion helped him to embody the essence of Indie Dance, Progressive and Organic house to gain a distinctive characteristic by mixing, to establish himself through hypnotic melodies and strong but profound rhythms. Kaakar has performed alongside artists like John Cosani, Eleonora, Mpathy and been influenced since teenage by artists like David August, John Digweed, Hernán Cattáneo, Oliver Koletzki, Hraach, Rafael Cerato and many more exponents.

Fishplant brings an element of sunshine to dance music with his signature melodic sound, lovingly crafted from a background of varied musical experiences.

This English producer discovered his passion for house music later than most, but his love of music has been a lifetime. After he spent his early years playing various instruments in orchestras, jazz groups and rock bands, a chance encounter with an old friend on a trip to Sydney in 2012 brought about his calling to house music. Since then, his career has found him gracing the decks internationally, with residencies in Bali, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur, as well as performances in the USA, Thailand, and UK. 

His debut album ‘Self Titled’ was released in 2023 on YHV Records. It was more than 10 years in the making, as he honed his self-taught production skills to combine his passion for beautiful uplifting melodies with his old influences, creating a signature style that finds its feet amongst the melodic, deep and organic genres.

He has since gone on to work with artists such as Veytik, SAAND, Joca, Pinkowitz, Cielo (US) and Tojogo among others, as well as signing with labels Be Adult, Rythmica, Empty World and Personal Belongings.

As a DJ, he has created a reputation for sets that take you on an immersive musical journey from organic house to techno, and is highly renowned for sending the sun to bed with an emotional sonic experience. Listen, feel and let go! Melodic medicine for your ears, body, mind and spirit... get ready to surrender to the fishplant frequency.
