The first time I heard this was May singing it live at her CD release party for the album Tiny Beautiful Things in March of '22.   It nearly brought me to tears thinking of the relationship my parents had for 64 years after they had both recently passed.   May is an outstanding songwriter when it comes to the human condition.

Hearing Jimmy had passed that morning left me in shock - but my first thought was "A World Without Jimmy??"   I always just figured he'd outlive us all.   Thankfully that thought stuck in my noggin and now that I've fully processed his passing I was able to put my feelings into this tune.  I used to do a 3 hour all Buffett show for the Michigan Fan Club (Fins to the North) and always felt a special connection to "the old man"

I've always loved this track that Raul does solo acoustic at their shows - the pain of the writer can certainly be felt - and Raul's voice just makes it more heartfelt.    One of the best sad songs I've ever heard.

A song I wrote a couple years ago for an old friend who took his life one year after losing his sister to ALS.    I started writing it to comfort him when Bertie passed, then shelved it due to my own family issues.  Finished it when Bill took his life.

This tune came out around the year I was born, and I remember my Gramps (Baba) attempting to sing it.   Like my Dad, he admittedly couldn't "carry a tune in a wheelbarrow" but God love him for trying.  He was in WWI and had quite a life.  He's been gone since '69, but I still think about him every day.

I saw Rick Price open up for Tommy Emmanuel about 10 years ago and got a chance to talk to him for quite a while.   For someone that was SO popular in Australia, he was an incredibly kind and humble guy - and a very talented musician and singer.   This song popped up on my car media player the other day and I was reminded I'd never learned it.   Just one of those songs that grabs you and doesn't let go.

Eric Lowen and Dan Navarro were a songwriting team that morphed into a performing duo in the 80's.   They wrote "We Belong" - a big hit for Pat Benatar.   Eric Lowen passed from ALS in 2012.   This is for him....

My musical life began at about 5 years old singing along to my family's Monkees albums in front of the console stereo.   At 14 I picked up the guitar for the first time and started exploring what it could do.   In the late 70's I played in a classic rock band, and in '82 started doing strictly solo acoustic work.   I also worked in a record store from '79 to '87 and got to experience much more music than most.   It's been a long journey and I still can't get enough.   I play steel string guitars by Tim and Mary Mcknight, and Bill Wise (Charis Acoustic)   and nylon strings by Loriente.
