After various publications with Schimmer Records, W133, and zwoelfnullsieben, Timo Rinker debuts his first full album, presenting a collection of both older and more recent projects. Creating a metonymy between a Golden Hour spent in the lush and dewy mornings in the forests of Sri Lanka and the vivacious sweatiness of the final hour of a night at the club, Timo Rinker presents personal moments of bliss, wedged between night and day. Dew is the first track, easing into the album with light drums and an atmospheric sound. The album continues, becoming less atmospheric and more breaky with every track while still being less rough than the second half of the album. Building up the energy further towards the second half of the album, Rituals with its heavy rhythm and bass begins Rinker's switch to a more experimental breakbeat sound, culminating in the electronica sound of Fast Paced. Solar Radiation marks the departure from the more experimental sound into techno and is followed by Insects a bouncy track bopping along like an ant train through a nightclub. Golden Hour, the title-giving track is a joyous ode to summer while the final track Hold Me finishes the album with a melancholic expression of the fleeting nature of contentment.

BBB021 - Ploy's Absent Father Remix

A journey through some of the genres that you'll get to listen in 95 Open Tabs. A story based on the calm but heavily inspired by the storm, which tries to escape from the world we live in while we sit on a sofa where only people we love have sat before.

A tribute to my home and to the calm that floods me every time I walk through the door. To the peace that only music gives me, nevermind if slow or accelerated, nevermind if ambient or heavy bass tunes. It hugs me. 

A hiding place is a hole in existence and a non-place which is in fact more of a "place" than any other. A safe place. 

In my hiding place there is usually water. Water connects me to everything and to the land where I was born and transports me to the calm and to the salty waters of Gijón.

This hour has been a hiding place  :)
