Tosca have been curating top shelf remixes of their material for as long as the group has been in existence. While working on their latest remix collection <i>Tlapa</i>, Richard Dorfmeister & Rupert Huber decided to extend an invitation to their fans to contribute remixes. In conjunction with Beatport, they conducted a remix contest for the non-album track "Looking," and after serious deliberation, have chosen Daniel Broadhurst's excellent remix as the winner. 

The winning remix is available now as a single on <a href="http://www.beatport.com/release/looking/1152839">Beatport</a>, and the full remix album is <a href="http://k7.greedbag.com/buy/tlapa-the-odeon-remixes-2/">out now</a>.

Having spent seven years in his adopted home of London steadily crafting a hazy, ambiguous identity that fuses ambient onto drone and techno, Tom Hang (aka Lobster Theremin boss Jimmy Asquith) finally steps up the the plate with 'To Be Held In A Non Position' - a melded one-take LP that explores extended themes of isolation, loneliness, personal loss, disconnection and reconnection with reality and (self)-identity.

Through his long-lost label Tidy Bedroom - on which 'To Be Held In A Non Position' will be released - Tom Hang engages in a more introspective path, exploring sonic territories that find an echo with dislocated past experiences, pushing physical and psychic boundaries to get at the crux of intimacy.

The landscape laid out is a digitised, plasticised and roughened version of real life experiences. A reflection of the physical harshness, coldness and a detached non-position that comes with the dislocating of the individual from both social connections and reality itself. Told through a prism tinted with personal difficulty, it's scorched harsh extremities waft in and out of view around more subtle tones and textural elements. A phasing in and out of the real world, from the perspective of the individual and the anxiety-driven hive-mind we have become so dependent upon.

Tom Hang's previous releases have come via London experimental powerhouse Where To Now?, with an effusive live cassette, 'Tidy Bedroom Versions 2009-2013', released in February 2015. Later followed by an organic, textural techno EP 'The New World' released via the same imprint in September 2016.

Kyle was this guy who I found at an open mic poetry night and he did this unbelievably beautiful thing about meeting this girl for the first time. Describing the bar as tho it was like a war zone of like absolute chaos. The line ‘in this smoking chaos our shoulder blades kissed’ is as close to perfection as 8 words can get.
Kyle was also then super sweet about it when I told him I’d re pitched him into a whole damn song lol 😬🙏🤗🙏

When I first found Sébastien’s music on Soundcloud about 18 months ago, I knew I had struck gold.  He sent me “Ana” to try out and it became my most played record of 2012. It was released as part of CLOUDED 010 – The Clouded Vision Experiment, which has since received critical acclaim from across the globe.

Upon asking him for more tracks throughout the latter part of 2012, he became prolific at catering to my tastes.  The title track from his debut EP, “Freaking Slowly” has become my most sought after secret weapon from a number of DJ’s, bloggers and dancers.  

Based in the south of France, Sébastien has been a resident DJ at the Bindy Club in Pau, where he has played alongside some of the most renowned artists of the French scene, including Chloé, Ivan Smagghe and Jennifer Cardini.  

Sébastien has developed a sound that is melodic, powerful and elegant.  Each track builds into a crescendo, without ever needing to be forceful or abrasive.  I wanted one remix, something totally different and the one act I had in mind was Red Axes.  I met them both recently in Tel Aviv and we talked about remixes for the label and they soon came up trumps.  By re-playing the entire track with live drums and guitars, Red Axes and have turned “Ana” into a low-slung techno-rockabilly dance floor gem.
