Severn Electronics presents SE003 - "7XINS - Cobalt Made Dreams Of Avarice."

"Cobalt Made Dreams Of Avarice" is the first release for 2024. The EP is digital only and features 2 original tracks from 7XINS and a remix from the hard hitting duo “Mist Gasp”.

This 2-track EP demonstrates a surrealist hypnotic side of 7XINS mind, offering listeners into a more undulating, sub heavy dreamscape. Pulsating baselines intertwine with open atmospheres, creating a sonic landscape that is both ethereal and immersive. These tracks are characterised by minimal synth work in the mid-range with clear emphasis on low end and minimal percussion, a clear departure from his conventional sound creating a perfect balance between dance floor energy and introspective immersion, perfect those deeper moments.

Track 3 is a remix of "7XINS - Western Prospects" provided by heavy hitting duo Mist Gasp. Mist Gasp have worked hard over the years which has been paying off well with recent releases on Bas Mooy’s mighty MORD records, SOMA and various other platforms. Consistency has been key for these guys everything they touch seems to scream peak time driving techno with heavy bottom...

Somatic Rituals 

Somatic Rituals are a label/collective consisting of Kombé, Mafou and Mukuna who have established themselves at the core of Basel’s club scene. Their expOSe mix channels the crew’s signature percussive sound that gives nods to the intricate rhythms of their African roots and is heavily interwoven with UK techno, broken beat and of course a splash of jungle courtesy of the legendary Source Direct for good measure. Dig in!

Matrixxman 

The usually unhinged Berghain regular Matrixxman steps it back a couple of notches from his typical affairs to provide us with an absolute stompin’ set full of industrial, italo, minimal wave and so much more for this expOSe (although don’t think you’re getting through the whole 90 minutes without at least a few techno heaters). The mix is peppered with all sorts of goodies including industrial bomb La Vida Sigue Igual on label-fave Dark Entries and tracks from 80s coldwave duo Oppenheimer Analysis, time to dive in!
