Composed for clarinet (A) and piano, this sonatina is in five movements. It was originally written in 2022 and rewritten in 2025.

The first movement is inspired by my sunroom, which is also a small library. The music is
sentimental but wandering in nature, and interruption is an important tool throughout.

The second movement is a short memorial to a coppice, or a grove of trees that is routinely cut
down. It is a dance of smoke and boughs.

Following this, the third movement is inspired by pottery fragmentation and the disintegration
brought on by time. It is a faster, lighter dance that is split in half.

The fourth movement is also a morceau, and it was written for the plant of the same name.

The sonatina ends with a magical légende. The fifth movement is an ostinato that hints at
medieval chants and a long since extinguished past.
