ABOUT THE ARTIST

Lascu, the creative force behind Tanapa Records and VAL Series, is an emerging artist known for his unique blend of Rominimal, Techno, and Break Beat. Born in Codlea, Romania, Vlad-Adrian Lascu began his musical journey at the age of 13, experimenting with genres like Dubstep, Hip-Hop, and Trap. In 2016, he discovered his passion for Drum & Bass, which led him to produce Rominimal—a genre that combines House and Minimal Techno with a dark, distinctive sound. 

Lascu's music has been featured on various labels, including Granular Records, Mind Hub, and Interplanetare Lab. His work has gained recognition on platforms like Shazam, with 100 Shazams, and Spotify, where he has been added to 20 playlists, reaching an audience of over 2,000 listeners. With a growing fan base and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of electronic music, Lascu is poised to make a significant impact in the dance music scene.

ABOUT THE MIX:

[1] Step into the void. This set is a deep dive into the world of dark minimal, where a sense of foreboding hangs in the air. Moody, subterranean grooves are built upon a foundation of rich, ambient pads, only to be deconstructed by a series of glitchy, percussive elements. A sonic journey for the late-night hours.

[2] Where shadows dance and echoes linger. This mix is a study in sonic minimalism, crafting a haunting atmosphere with a palette of deep, resonant pads. The silence is punctuated by a series of precise, glitchy rhythms, creating a tension that is both unsettling and utterly captivating.

Bornconfused , DJ and collector from Tunis, Tunisia. Born in 1995, he began digging and collecting records at the age of 12, developing a deep connection with sound long before stepping behind the decks.

After years away from the scene, remaining a devoted raver and collector, he returns with a refined and mature vision shaped by experience. In 2025, he began his journey into production, translating his deep taste and instinct for groove into his own sound. His music blends the darker shades of Romanian minimal, breakbeat, and experimental textures , always driven by emotion, groove, and subtle tension.

For the second year in a row, Vief Records is raising funds for Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Voted for by those involved in the project, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice. Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.

Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. We still sell arms to Israel, both directly and indirectly, whilst also supporting its military with intelligence and training - the latter shockingly taking place on British shores.

Let’s be clear. Any minor concessions, like recognising the State of Palestine in September, would not have taken place without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign. And as public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow, continued campaigning remains vitally important.

Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, containing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.
