Premiere: Chlär - Synaptic Discussion [MR005]

Party-starter Chrissy joins the Shall Not Fade family with a 4-track serotonin hit which draws on influences from his San Franciscan heritage, as well as those closer to home in the UK.

‘You Don’t Have To Worry’ encompasses this fusion, with anthemic piano chords and uplifting vocals that enliven a swung breaks instrumental. ‘Assure Us There’s A Heaven’ and ‘If I Could’ also come with plenty of swing, borrowing tropes from UK Funky to show house at its most danceable, whilst ‘All These Dreams’ is a modern take on old school vocal house.

Dreams EP drops 21st October via Shall Not Fade.

Their mission was of their own choosing, as was their path. It was a journey of exploration and discovery, without rules or obligations, but it was imperative that they kept a record of every encounter and experience beyond the atmosphere. They'd imagined what might be above them in space, what strange creatures could lurk on far off planets... Nobody really knew what lay amongst the stars or in the furthest reaches of the cosmos, but maybe they would be the very first to find out. 

London-based DJ T Dunn has just shared his label Timehri's biggest project to date. Hand in hand with close label affiliate DJ Perception, a pioneering force in the UKG underground and the mind behind Timehri's first ever release, they've been working hard over the last year and a half to bring Perception's album to life.

A concept LP, Journey To The Star imagines a voyage through space "guided by a faint starlight in the outer reaches, beamed back to earth for your listening pleasure". The first of its kind, the release showcases Perception's musical prowess and solidifies his position as a forward-thinking force in the UK Garage world, who seamlessly manages to bridge the past and the future of the sound.

While known for his fondness of electro and all things Detroit, Osprey truly finds his passion in anything that can consistently keep the funk. From the wonkier sounds of UK bass, to rhythmic analog breaks, what is most important for him is maximising dancefloor energy with music that stands out in a club environment. Importantly, to ensure progressiveness of his sound, DJ Osprey aims to look beyond the current trends to find a sound that is equally as immersive as it is interesting. Having co-founded the Naarm based Synesthetic imprint, he has been able to involve himself with some of Melbourne’s best selectors and has supported the likes of DJ Gigola, Kessler and Simo Cell.

The Procyon II team are very proud to bring you PRCN001: 'Wave Artifice' - Naarm local AJ Walker's second EP and the maiden release for the Procyon II label. Releasing May 5th 2023. 

AJ returns with bag of sonic goodies to take you a journey through the galaxy and back. With a propensity for driving low-end grooves, snappy percussion and laser-like acid-licks leaving no surprises, this release has seen him venture down new avenues of sound design creating nebulous pad sections and synth harmonies to lose yourself in on a dusty dance-floor in the bush.

3 recent cuts, 'Wave Artifice', 'Polybius' and 'Astra-Technique' showcase the last 6-months or so of AJ's trip into the esoteric and aims to capture that otherworldly feeling you might get while staring into the liminality of space on a clear night.
'Blue Shell Boogie', written in 2021 is an ode to everyones favourite N64 classic. Sitting dormant on a backup disc since and finally finding a home on the Procyon II imprint.

It's house, it's trance, it's a bit prog and it's Mario Kart 64 - it's Wave Artifice.

The Vicario Musique Recordings bosses have already made a mark under their Soul of Hex alias, pushing their cosmic, vibrant take on deep house. It’s caught the ear of labels and artists across the world; the likes of Delusions of Grandeur, Freerange Records and Quintessentials have shared their music and they’ve even earned the Larry Heard seal of approval, with the legendary Chicago producer stepping up to remix their 2014 track ‘Lip Reading’.
