Afferrami is the debut single on Laber Nicht Records for the Italian-German DJ & producer - Valeria. The track reflects Valeria's dancefloor driving nature while conveying her romantic Italian persona. The track is titled "Afferrami," which means to "hold me tight" in Italian. Shortly before the track elevates itself, the phrase "Te mi afferri la mano" appears, hinting at an affair between dance floor lovers as the protagonist speaks of their hand being grabbed. As the track begins driving forward, the echoing of "balliamo" encourages the protagonists "to dance."

ℹ️ About Valeria

The Heidelberg based DJ finds her roots in the south of Italy. Valeria's childhood was heavily influenced by Italian music, Psychedelic Rock, Synth Wave and later, also Indie Rock. Her characteristic approach to electronic music gives her sound that little extra spice and she describes her sound as "subtly flashy". Influenced by her Apulian roots, Valeria usually serves a mix of groove, dreaminess and straight up bangers that hit you right in the guts.

CAMA03: FRiends and Family Ep. 36

Gili already collected vinyl for many years before she properly started mixing it. Since the end of 2019 she has also been playing in clubs and festivals around town such as Rotunde (Bochum), Tarmac or Szenit Festival and even Institut für Zukunft, Conne Island, Objekt Klein a in Dresden. Gili is also part of CLOSED and Zweite Reihe Halle.

Her DJ sets reflect her musical movement between different worlds in Düsseldorf, Halle and Leipzig, which have inspired and influenced her. Moving between different genres, she comes from Downbeat beginnings to Housy stops to Synth and Acid Sounds, Breaks and Bass and curiously brings it all together in her partly energetic, partly driving sets. What drives her is to do what makes her passionate.

We are very happy to share this week’s edition of our Podcast with you, presented by our dear friend Uschi!

The start of the set creates a cinematic atmosphere inviting you to close your eyes at sunrise after a night of dancing in the summer, to drift away with your friends and let the melodic and rhythmic sounds take effect on you. In the course of the mix the sound changes to a more microhousy sound with acid typical break-beats and driving percussions. Beat-Machine like sounds run through the mix, creating old-school vibes. The tension is constantly tightened, one banger after the other will not let you have a cigarette break. Conclusion: pleasant, light mix, with a lot of melodic, varied beats, acid elements, dreamy vocals and constantly building tension. We enjoyed it a lot and are looking forward to hearing more from Uschi!

Uschi a.k.a. Selin Küçük (@selinpeace) is a Vienna based DJ and audio-visual artist who likes to take her listeners on a wild ride with her mixes. She started DJing at the Mischgruppe open airs organized by her friends and herself. This mix aims to bring up the feeling of those open airs: a warm and breezy summer night accompanied by some groovy acid tracks to dance to until dawn.

Moskalus: FRiends and Family Ep. 49

For our 50th podcast episode of FRiends and Family, we have a live hardware set by Chicago's @chaosiskoz . Performing at clubs like Podlasie Club and The Listening Club in Chicago and releasing mixes for @rumorschicago , @komfortloch , @researchndevelopment , and @kaltblutmagazine , playing parties like @bwanz 's H.O.T.H., Joel is interwoven in the underground scene. I started following their sound a few years ago...they understand that hard has to have funk, that madness has groove. 

Strap in and lock in to the peak-paced machine-torque techno that's hard-hitting, groovy, bubbly...this is music that reacquaints you with your body...focusing in on a sound, an instrument, and really working it til you're lockstep with the motif....when I first listened to it, the weekly tornado drill sirens in my city went off right in time with the set within the first ten minutes. And the break about 3/4's into the set...cyber-divine. Get into it!

K.oz: FRiends and Family Ep. 50

For our 51st episode of FRiends and Family, we're thrilled to host a brilliant recording of a two hour set by @nathanielyoung who makes music and DJs as Guilt Attendant. Nathaniel runs the @uxz label alongside @lycheefrut , and they are also a brilliant designer, working as the creative director for @daisrecords (check out the insane Juno X merch collaboration between Dais and @rolandcom on their website linked below!!). This is two hours of techno as both escape and resistance, recorded live, March 7th, 2024, at Mansions in NYC for the UXZ-03 release party and label night a few weeks ago.
