An ode to failure!

Departing from the image of the genius artists, the Hit&Miss compilation wants to show the hidden parts of creation, by embracing missteps and abandonment as a natural part of any artistic journey. 

Open to all members of the Global URL Nation, it proposed a new home for projects that couldn't find a place to exist otherwise, due to artistic (self-)exigency, technical problems, bad timing or any other reason often unknown to the general public. 

With more than 20 artists from a broad range of styles, experience and locations, it gathers unfinished projects such as aborted WIP, forgotten drafts, lost files, unconvincing demos, compulsive emotional bursts or technical experimentations. 

With all its flaws and raw cuts, Hit&Miss asserts the strength of trial and error, and cherishes the impossibility to develop an idea into a finished object as a learning process towards one's growth.

‘Religious Equipment' drills deep into the gritty depths of industrial techno and noise, pulling no punches with a set of tracks named after opiate blockers or substitute drugs like Methadone and Subutex, which serve as sonic stand-ins for suppressed urges, blurring the line between resistance and surrender. Fresh from his live assault at Berlin’s Atonal Festival, Richie Culver’s debut full-length album under his Quiet Husband alias draws on the brutal, repetitive rhythms of techno, while spoken word passages — including one featuring his mother — cut through the chaos with a deeply personal narrative. From the gates of hell to the empty solace of noise, ‘Religious Equipment’ paints a harrowing portrait of addiction and substitution, where noise becomes a proxy for silence, and intensity replaces numbness.

Accompanying the release is a text by curators Charles Teyssou and Pierre-Alexandre Mateos, which reads as an art piece in itself, mirroring the tracks' exploration of coping mechanisms through fragmented moments of self-reflection, despair, fleeting euphoria, and the endless substitution of one void for another.

The 51st release of katharsis is the album Afterlife by Danish artist Johan Carøe. The album takes shape through a collection of synth vignettes and spectral landscapes, where fragmented strings and ephemeral pads merge into weightless, hyper-lush forms. Created in a period of both new life and impending loss, Afterlife lingers in the space between presence and absence—a fragile transmission of shifting states, quiet relief, and fleeting sonic imprints. It stands as an isolated relic of a time that no longer exists—a collection of echoes, projecting the paradoxical nature of life and death.

Created in solitude on headphones and a MIDI keyboard in a transitional period in life, the album embodies a raw and intimate catharsis—the word in its truest sense. Without the usual studio space, these pieces emerged through line-in synths, VST textures, and fragments of old recordings—saxophone, cello, violin—stitched together like distant memories resurfacing. The absence of microphones and monitors lends the music an eerily virtual quality—a small life in a small box, a stretched-out portrait of a passing moment. It is introspective yet expansive, a meditation on the transient nature of memory, sound, and being.

Dark Symphony is a dark yet elegantly unfolding cinematic composition that thrives on tension and emotional depth. Its sound design feels made for motion picture: slow-building dynamics, gradually layering textures, and subtle dramatic crescendos draw the listener into a vivid world of imagery.

The track evokes powerful visual emotions — it could easily underscore a post-apocalyptic landscape, a tragic hero’s journey, or a deep inner transformation. The mix provides a wide spatial dimension, allowing each element to breathe while maintaining a cohesive dramatic flow.

The composition reflects professional cinematic sensibility — reminiscent of Hans Zimmer or Jóhann Jóhannsson — yet with a distinctly modern, personal touch. Dark Symphony stands out as an atmospheric score that balances beauty and darkness in perfect harmony.

Bonaventure, real name Soraya Lutangu, follows up her 'Complexion' single released on NON Worldwide last year with her EP, 'FREE LUTANGU,' out on PTP in May. Described by Lutangu as having been born out of "a violent clash of sorrow and love," this EP explores themes of institutional racism and oppression - something she's experienced first hand growing up in Lausanne, Switzerland, of mixed African and European heritage. Listeners are confronted head-on by these issues with the pummeling opener, "Supremacy," acting as an ominous movie trailer narrated by samples of Sister Souljah's speech from Bill Moyer's PBS series 'Listening To America,' and in titles such as "Mulatre" and Diaspora." Closing track "Fearlings" also sees Bonaventure collaborate with artist and writer Hannah Black - who contributes on vocals - offering a first glimpse into their ANXIETINA project, a performance piece realized in music, words and textiles by Lutangu, Black and designer Ebba Fransen-Waldhor.

'FREE LUTANGU' will be released digitally on PTP in May, with the vinyl edition set for a summer release together with a remix package featuring Endgame, Ziúr, Prison Religion, Y1640, Jackie, and PTP label head Geng.
