We're Delighted to present to the listeners a phenomenal, nearly 2 hour session from the label co-owner of Smooth N Groove Records - hailing from the UK. Quite the memorable trip as you can imagine. The performer and tracklisting speak for themselves. Check the journey, one for the books!

Christal is the label co/owner of the prominent Drum & Bass label - Smooth N Groove Records alongside Clen. The label is based out of Northampton, UK and Washington DC, USA. The label has been active since 2016.

Smooth N Groove is a Drum & Bass label dedicated to bringing atmospheric, Funky, Soulful, rolling vibes from the best in the scene to the ears of all listeners. Since its conception Smooth N Groove has established a respectable place within the scene with full support from their peers and an ever growing fan base. Over the years the imprint has released music from some of the scenes very best, from the likes of Madcap, Blade, mSdoS, Dave Owen, Payback, Soul Connection, Poscheck and Carter to name a few. 

Chris runs a club night since 2018 alongside Scott Allen (Soul Deep Recordings), Clen (Smooth N Groove)  and John Crossland (SoulStructure) called Soul Deep vs Smooth N Groove. Keep an eye out for more info on their next event November 26th, 2022, at Club 43 Northampton, UK.

They have also taken the Soul Deep vs Smooth N Groove brand to the west coast of America hosting events in Los Angeles at Respect, and San Francisco at Stamina.

Although he's not yet released his debut EP, San Francisco d'n'b producer Submorphics already has a host of producers backing his smooth and soulful take on the genre. 

Before the 'Burnside Park' EP arrives on Bryan Gee's Liquid V next month, Greg Axelrad already counts LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records and DJ Marky's Innerground Records, with the inevitably sun-kissed 'Summer Soul', as labels he's appeared on, not to mention collaborating with Lenzman.

As a prelude to the upcoming Soul:ution Room Two takeover on Friday 16th May, label boss Marcus Intalex and one of Manchester’s most reliable renegade emcees, DRS, have bumped consciousness and put together this, their ‘Mid Mic Crisis’ mix. Regular sparring partners in clubs the world over, DRS’ trademark measured Mancuian flow rides perfectly atop on Intalex’s soulful selection with his baritone delivery sitting sweetly and filling out the dynamic range of the rolling selections which reportedly feature, in some form, material from DRS’ forthcoming second album, Mid Mic Crisis.

Basically it’s a glorious and specifically tailored 62 minute mixtape showcase of DRS’ potency as a host, an emcee and a vocalist. But it comes mixed by Intalex which more than hints at the level of quality it contains... two of Manchester's finest in sterling form.
