Trying to return to a bit of writing. 

This was a work in progress... occasionally!     Piece started  20-ish years ago & picked up (very) intermittently since.  Written with children's media in mind.    Not quite finished compositionally, dynamic interest incomplete & unmixed. 

Don't have the technical know-how to create a good production even if I do ever get to the point where I think the notes are right!  Still ambivalent re: whether it's worth persisting or if I should simply drop it.    Advice appreciated.

Another obsession this week. This time it's Jack's. I originally started this cover of "Jack’s Obsession" from The Nightmare Before Christmas as a straight remake for practice... but somewhere along the way, it morphed and I had some fun on the bass and guitar.

Danny Elfman's original is, of course, untouchably brilliant, so this is more of a lovingly unhinged half-tribute, half-improvisation. Think of it as a Halloween Town fever dream, part orchestral, part rock.

Jack's Obsession Synthetic Orchestra Cover

A suite from the music of "Sagennacht 2019: Die Rache".

I was commisioned by the "Sorbische National-Ensemble" to compose the music for this years Sagennacht, a reocurring annual play in Burg (Spree Forest).
All of the nearly 60 minutes of original music I composed was recorded with the Sorbische National-Ensemble Orchestra and Choir.
The music of "Sagennacht 2019: Die Rache" includes fully orchestral music, solo vocal music, chamberesque music, choir music and also music that features Uppersorbian - an older version of the language Sorbian.

These are excerpts from the music featured in the play.
